Hitler appears to be very talented but it appears to the European art world he was yesterday and not tomorrow.

Hitler should have painted his own version of "The Scream," with a globe for a head. My grandparents, mother and uncle had to flee Europe in early 1938 because of the Nazis.

All of my or most of my electives in college were art courses.
It took a lot of money for all of the things I had to buy! I’ll tell you it was difficult because the instructors were real artists these were full-time artists didn’t fool around.
So what happened was I never fancied myself as an artist. I realize that I really wasn’t I was artist but I was an artistic. I have a creative imagination. I also can appreciate good art work, written or on canvas.
I learned how to critique art and understand a certain amount of the depth (probably not the right word to use), in art.
Hitler’s artistic works show a very basic artistic ability, but it’s just very simplistic and plain. It’s not very creative. In addition, we know that he could not portray human beings. That is not only unusual, but for me it’s always been disturbing. That should be analyzed. He didn’t have respect for life of any like. There is of course, the “final solution.” He personally ordered executions. The man even poisoned his pet dog!

Hitler was not a great artist by any means, but he wasn't terrible either. He wasn't vastly talented, but he was reasonably competent. Churchill was definitely the better artist of the two and made a point of submitting them to exhibitions under a pseudonym, as this assured that his pictures would be. shown on their own merits rather than just because they were painted by Churchill. It's a pity Hitler wasn't better, the history of the 20th century could have been a lot different if he had been.

He clearly was highly intelligent and went from busking to owning countries. But he got a little too ambitious and didn't have enough support from his buddies to win an all out war vs everyone else. I don't get why he is so villified when most people who conquered other regions/countries would often kill tons of people in the process and some would even kill a lot of the people they conquered and kept some of the "spoils" such as women, cows, sheep, children, etc. The American Civil war killed around 700,000 people. In WWII, estimates of 70,000,000 (seventy MILLION) people died. Estimates of 2 MILLION civilians died in the Vietnam war - a war the US had no business being in. TWENTY YEARS the U.S. killed Vietnamese. Why is Hitler so vilified but the US govt is not? Just asking.

This is so interesting. Firstly Hitler obviously had artistic talent. This watercolour is really good. Secondly, I'm amazed an art school rejected a potential student who showed they were this talented. Just shows how high standards to get into college were back in those days compared to today. Thirdly if you think about a man sitting down to carefully and meticulously paint in this way, wouldn't you imagine them to be a gentle soul who appreciated beauty, was patient and had a sense of romance and yet he went on to commit some of history's greatest atrocities. It's baffling how his mind worked.

Another American "history" chanel that can't be bothered to research the correct pronounciation of people and places in other countries. It's all about the views, likes and subscriptions folks! Such channels don't give a damn about real history. When you find a decent history channel, mark it as a favourite. Poorly researched channels like this on, are a dime a dozen, will tell you nothing new, nothing in depth and are just as likely to lead you astray, factually, as the opposite...

It is unfortunate, that the "snooty" university intellectuals didn't allow him to study art nor architecture, as his third choice, though he was really successful at it, was rather disruptive to the entire Planet.

Hitler was a competent artist. He was literal with his subjects, so his work could have been more sufficiently creative. Unfortunately, his genius showed through as a political figure. So, should he have remained an artist? No. He would have never been a success in art. He was fated to become the monster he was. Art was not strong enough to have saved him.
