nice. I like the idea of the zipper. It would be alot easier to get them on.

@marvintheboon My Columbia Titanium bots where a great winter boot and lasted probably 7yrs, Im gonna look for another pair of them for the real cold days as these may not provide extreme winter protection Im thinking.

@sain0777 Ive got no experience with Blackhawk boots so couldnt compare. Theyve held up well thru the Winter. Not good in excessive wet weather.

Love my ATAC's. A warning, while they don't require break-in they do stretch over time and will get a bit loose because of that.

Iv'e had some of these for about 1 year and have given them hell.I'm a lumberjack in texas and can say they feel great even in 115 degree weather

@areallylongassname2 I agree. I sprained my ankle pretty bad last night and I had to wear them today for the support and they made it feel like I had no injury. Only issue is ive found is if its like 35 degrees out and they get really wet they're cold. but they arent if its colder out and not wet. I'll buy them again.

after I watched your vid I'm planning to buy it straight away.I use U.K size 8.5W...do I need to buy size 8R or just stick it to 8.5R? thank you

@submitzero Ive had one other Tuber say they run about a half size big as well. All I can tell you is I need to be wearing thick Wool socks for them to fit like I think they should. If youre 8.5 in most everything Id say yeah, If you wear some 9's then I wouldnt want to go there. Hope that helps man. Thanks for getting involved.

@TheTactical6string no worries mate.its just too confusing with U.S sizing...some website telling me U.S 9=U.K 8.5 and others said U.S 9.5 is U.K 8.5.anyway, thanks man,it helps me much

@TheTactical6string - 27.12.2011 05:38

@Jason1087870 Well, I think they run big like I said so they may be to big. Im a 10 1/2 and if I ordered them again Id get a 10.

@smilyqb They get wet eventually, again I never treated them. I was out shoveling snow for a while the other day and the inside did end up getting moist.

those are just like the Texas Steers Desert Storm Tactical boots and they are the same price the back is a little different and i think better then the 5:11 because it's almost segmented so the back is a little more flexible.

Theyve held up very well. I just got a pair of Original SWAT boots cause they were only 39 bucks on sale. Very nice so far but having no zipper on the side is a pain in the Ass. I'm sticking to zip side from now on. Id pick 5.11 over TS tho. Ive had no issues what so ever with these.

yeah 5:11 is great and the ones i have have a zipper too and i just tied them like 2 times and just used the zipper i agree with you.

Funny thing - I bought the boots, saw ATACS on the box in the picture. I get them in the mail, and there is no box and I look at them and the tags say HRT! I asked the guy, and he said someone sold them as ATACS to him! I spent about $70 with S&H, so I still think I did really good, although it would have been nice to have a pouch and zippers on them. But they are amazingly comfy boots (9 inch) and I will still prob do a review sometimes. Just thought I would throw that situation at you! Lol

Wearing motorcycle riding boots alot got me in the habit of side zip boots so thought I why not give them a try in a tactical boot. Absolutely no regrets with these boots, they have served me very well for many hunting and hiking trips.

So here we are over 5yrs later, and Im still wearing these exact boots, all the stitching and tread has held up. The only issue it that during the winter the soles are extremely slick on the snow and ice now, the tread is still in good to excellent condition tho.

Their are no real Americans anymore. Every video on you tube I checked out none said were these boots come from.TO me that matters as much as what country is best to live in.
