Please say something bad for once! The price is stoopid and looks mushy when he pulls the handle!
ОтветитьIt's a nice priming device that not many can afford. For me, having my hand, finger or fingers over the mouth of the case as I am priming it seems kind of dangerous. A person may end up with a sore hand or fingers. Just and observation.
ОтветитьDid you purchase this unit? If it's so amazing, perhaps measurements of a run of fifty primers with a calibrated instrument would be a better selling point. Were you paid for this review?
ОтветитьI think I’ll take that $600 and go buy 500 SPPs...
ОтветитьDisclaimer...2000 yard competitions have been won without this tool.
ОтветитьA simple cam tool for $600? Somebody is taking people unrespectfully for a ride. :\
ОтветитьGreat video looks like a great product, but I would never spend 600.00 on a priming tool . I bet they do not sell many at that price..
ОтветитьSince there are no primers available im gonna have to say no it is not worth it at all.
ОтветитьI'll take RCBS for $99.00. I have no problem using it for competition.
ОтветитьJUST UNSUBSCRIBED.
ОтветитьYIkes.
my car isn't worth that much.
NO and NO!
ОтветитьMore expensive is not always better. Any of the less expensive hand tools will do the job as well.
ОтветитьFor 600.00 it must make the primers too huh because for the last year or so I haven’t found any primers to buy.
ОтветитьDear Mr Gavin,
Hornady Supperformance. 308 168 ELD Match Ammunition in my M1A?
Would it be Ok, and would you?
Will it be to much?
Kind regards.
Competition = $$$. Too steep for me!
Ответитьthere's no way this is better than a cheaper primer seater.. this is a classic case of people thinking that because it costs more it must obviously be better than the cheaper ones which in a lot of cases is bs and this seems to be one of those cases... would love to see me proved wrong but I highly doubt I will be
Ответитьthanks for posting, is there a safe method to remove the unfired primers, in case you have a different case you want to save some primers?
ОтветитьI think there are a whole bunch of non competitive shooters complaining about the price.
Ответитьdoesnt come with shell holders for 600 dollars? give me a break
Ответитьi noticed youre using two plywood pieces to hold onto the T-tracks. my question is if you can explain a bit more about how you put this together? specifically, are the two pieces glued to one another and are there any bolts in there to hold it together and if so, is there a way to see the bottom of that to know if you did a countersink and what length bolts are in there?
ОтветитьI don’t think it’s worth the huge bucks !
ОтветитьSo competitions and records have been won/set with something as primal as the primer on your press , hand primers , cheaper bench primers.....500/600 dollars hahahahaha not even worth a thought !!!!
ОтветитьI’d like to see some groups on paper
ОтветитьFor $600 I would expect more quality..... You can see that thing moving around every time it gets used .. looks pretty sloppy in a lot of ways. The primer tubes don't look like they fit well, the primer shuttle looks a little cheesy as well. Base seems to allow flex for an operation that shouldn't take much force.
I just finished some primer depth seating tests (actually concentrating more on primer anvil compression) and it won't turn standard precision loads into BR records. You can watch the videos from Witch Doctor and see what effects it has for him on his BR testing and while minimal it can improve, but it's not likely to be a universal setting for every primer type, cartridge or load. It's just one aspect of thousands to manage... and I can manage it for a whole lot less.
Real problem requiring the purchase of Lee shell holders. Most shooters use RCBS.
Other deal breaker is $$$$$$
Sorry too rich for my needs.
I made a micrometer adjust for the Sinclair tool years ago. In a 6ppc 100-200 yard bench rest rifle. Playing with primer seating depth did nothing for group size.
Ответитьbuying this is like buying a pneumatic sledgehammer to drive some finish nails on some molding. I need an excuse for another tool.
ОтветитьWhen I ordered a CPS I spoke with Greg. He’s such a nice guy. Always available.
ОтветитьI can appreciate the work and thought that went into this unit, but it doesn't do anything the K&M Seater does at 1/4 of the price, and you have to mount it.
ОтветитьI need one....ya!
ОтветитьYou should use a rubber band for return on arm
Ответить$650 dollars to get the kids involved in reloading?
ОтветитьI have the RCBS Priming Tool, cannot be compared - this is in another league. Will def get one ASAP.
ОтветитьLol. How does this $600 tool accommodate the manufacturing tolerances built into the primers themselves not to mention the cases you are installing them into? If you seat six primers that are one overall height and then the next two are. 001" taller, does the tool just mash them down more? What if the primer after that is. 001" shorter than the first six but the lathe cut the rim on that case .0005" thinner? If you want your $600 worth of precision out of this tool it pretty much demands that you are sorting your primers by height and weight along with sorting your brass to make sure that you segregate any cases with variations in primer pocket to extractor groove to shoulder dimensions so that the primer will always have the same amount of insertion in the pocket and always be the same location in the chamber waiting for the firing pin. On the other hand, if all that is reasonably required is to repeatably squish the primers down to some set dimension away from the front of the rim just like this tool does any ram prime unit will do that for like $25 with $575 left over to buy a brand new press to screw it into and beverages to drink while you do it. The Lee Auto Prime 2 will even do it while feeding primers so that you don't have to handle them one at a time if you can find one on eBay.
ОтветитьThis auto loader primer press looks awesome, but I don’t shoot that many rounds and the price for me wouldn’t be appropriate. So my question is what would be an affordable auto primer press? I did notice a review on the RCBS 9460 Automatic Priming Tool, looked impressive, what’s your thoughts? I have a “very old” RCBS Rock Chucker Kit. (like new in the box) I’ve only reloaded 20 rounds of 45 ACP and 20 rounds of 44 mag. I also need a way to clean my brass. Your video's are very imformative. Your the only one I trust. Thanks
ОтветитьHell yes worth every penny. I really love mine. Only wish now I had bought it right away but was sticker shocked. Trust me it is everything and more. Last priming toll I will ever need and even my son will need. I no longer bother priming on my progressive press and having all those issue. Loading is smooth as silk now.
ОтветитьNo way
ОтветитьI started to buy one...Until I used my friends..No way is it worth 600 bucks. Its no more than a Franjfurd Arsenal style bolted on a bench. NO ONE BIT BETTER TGAN TGE FIRSTER PRIMING TOO.
Ответитьwhat sled are you shooting off of in that clip?
ОтветитьIts not faster or more precise than anything else. It requires separate shellholders. Its just inferior to the competition. So why its so expensive? Another shooter on local range showed me that seater when I was considering buying something after my old one started having problems. I seriously though its going to be a budget alternative to Forster or RCBS table seaters but its like twice as expensive as both of them combined. Pathetic.
ОтветитьGonna have to stick with my $1.99 Lee Auto-Prime but, thanks for showing us how the big boys do it. LOL
ОтветитьWhy would you ever want a $600 priming tool, other than to show off to your buddies
ОтветитьI didn't think much of it at first, but after watching the podcast that Erik Cortina did with Greg, and having used the Frankfurt Arsenal adjustable hand priming tool, I was impressed. And honestly; the price is still high for me but as Greg says; it's not the most expensive thing I've bought for reloading. It falls pretty much in the middle of the pack. There's also the fact that the hand primer; while adjustable, has left me with a crooked primer in the pocket and after the fatigue sets in, quite a few primers that I had to double squeeze to get the depth I wanted. All in all; I'm sure it's worth it. I should have one soon 🤙
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking the time to create it.. Just received my new CPS and am installing it today. This will be replacing my old RCBS unit which worked fine - but was a little clunky and I had to rely on feel versious a positive stop setting. I prefer to buy the best tools possible and this unit is certainly not cheap. However I feel it was worth the cost. Should work well next to my 419 Zero press. Cheers from Leeds, Alabama!
ОтветитьNice Unit, BUT, NOT worth the money. Get a Dillion progressive press for that kind of money.
Ответитьyeah that's not at all how primer anvils work 🤡🤡🤡 these dorks all act like lee's ram prime doesn't exist🙄
Ответитьused to work with some guys who were PMEL (precision measurement and equipment laboratory) in the Air Force. they all had a FETISH for stuff like this. it did not matter whether it produced an actual result. i think this this was made for guys like that. it makes you FEEL like you're getting a better end product, so the price justifies itself.
Ответить$675
id rather buy 675 worth of ammo
