Not that they would offer it to newcastle lol but i would take it. Premier league has become a monopoly that suits the established clubs not the teams that have money.

This was bound to happen said it for almost 2 decades now. The PL tv rights are so far ahead to 2nd place. Impossible for La Liga Seria A Bundesliga and Ligue 1 to ever catch up. Hell even the MLS now is catching up Ligue 1's tv rights deal and is now the 6th largest deal in world football.

What needs to happen is that the EU teams do a super league together. Laporta apparently confirmed that La Liga Seria A Ligue 1 Portuguese League Eredivise & Jupiter League are all interested to join it. Benfica Porto Sporting Lisbon Ajax PSV Feyernoord Anderlecht Brugge Marseille Lyon Napoli Inter Milan Roma are actually already confirmed teams and La Liga its literally every team bar Atletico Madrid. If the French teams join it. PSG is bound to join after and same for Atletico Madrid RM Barça Sevilla are part of it no chance they will say no. Seria A needs the money so AC Milan & Juventus are 200% going to be part of it no chance they let it slide with Inter Napoli & Roma already confirmed. I think the Bundesliga would join it before the PL. The PL wont join this league until the Super League actually becomes a proper threat to their financial lead and for that to happen RM Barça Atletico Sevilla Juve AC Milan Inter Napoli Roma Bayern Dortmund Frankfurt Leverkusen Leipzig PSG Marseille Lyon Monaco Porto Benfica Sporting Lisbon Ajax PSV Feyernoord Anderlecht Brugge are going to have to come together. Because then these teams will be able to keep their players and this league will most definitely be alot more competitive to poach players off PL clubs. Quite frankly i think it would be great if these leagues become 1 super league it will most definitely rival the Premier League if they get all the big clubs from the top 5 leagues.

The super league will happen. It will probably have 32 or even 64 teams, will probably be played like NFL conferences, will probably take on as many as 12 English teams, fans will protest and decry it as the death of Football, and 15 years after it starts we'll all think it's the greatest thing ever and why did we not do it sooner? How can I be so sure? Because if you look back at the media of the 1880s, 1930s 1950s and 1990s You'll find the exact same pattern of fan and media behaviour raging against professionalism, The Football League, The World Cup [in England at least], the European Cup, The Premier League and The Champions League. Since the 1880s fans have always hated any suggestion of change and always loved the change once they've had time to get used to it. For me personally. I can't wait for a European League and sincerely hope my team, Everton make the cut when it comes. Saturday evening vs Barcelona or Bournemouth? No contest. Because if we listened to fans and the media, We'd still be watching Old Carthusians playing the Old Etonians on Wandsworth common in a friendly.

The premier league was the original super league. It was designed to help the "bigger" clubs of the time, but ended up becoming another part of the English pyramid where people have now just forgotten all about it coming in.

The championship was the top of the English game, division 1.

Even lower league football in england is being snapped up by the billionaires. That's the more depressing thing for me.

The new CL format is a step towards this super league it is going to happen even if fans are against it,the only reason it never happened last time was because they tried to break away from the governing body who will do anything to keep their total control over world football.

Ответить
@CJ4YRD
@CJ4YRD - 22.12.2024 11:51

I guarantee it's not going to happen.

Hurdle no.1, The FA has already stated it would subsequently ban any club from competing in the prem and domestic cups if they join the super league. Meaning a loss of millions.

Hurdle no.2, This means that any season ticket holder would be forced to go abroad to watch enough games to even be able to get enough points to be able to buy a season ticket the following year.

Hurdle no.3, us fans have already made our clubs aware of the stance we have on the superleague and unless you've missed something Simon, clubs backed down the same day because of fan backlash.
They can propose all the new ways of a super league they want fans will just continue to say no and owners will continue to do as they are told simple.

Sorry, but in the 90s, Italian football was the premier football of then, and corruption killed Italian football just like in Premier League. In football, you have high and lows at the moment. Premier league is running high, but for how long? I think Spanish football needs to step up and make la ligua competitive and soon Premier league will die down like Italian football in 90's

How about we keep the domestic European game and just create a unified regulation for all leagues to fit the UCL? Things like foreign player rules and even things like salary caps. This will promote alot more financial stability and strategy over transfers and keep ahold of runaway wages of players.

All 6 Premier League Clubs at Present have individuel shares in the European Super League, Why do you think the 300 Million pound fines were never handed out by Florintino Perez and served in Court, The only known Club to have sold it's shares and be served a court order for the fine is Inter Milan, these owners are still in contact to get this over the line, they all have to be in contact with each other, each club sits on that board, you can step down from a role and still manage to keep your shareholding that's the world of Finance, This is what happens when you don't punish people Severely, the Premier League slapped them on the Wrist.

In the end, what the super league is about is distribution of wealth and regulation. The elite clubs, almost all owned by corporate or sovereign wealth, want to regulate themselves, and for the wealth to not move down to the smaller clubs. Ultimately this becomes a series of brand names playing football against each other for money.

I actually agree. I think this will happen. I hate that money rules, but sadly it does and they will be chasing that cash.
One silver lining may be that domestic football at lower levels may get more popular due to the disconnection and the greater disparity in wealth between the average Joe and the Super League. Who can afford to travel all around Europe for an entire season, watching players on 400k a week and feel they fit in? No one except the very wealthy.
