There was a time when Ricardo Ferreira a.k.a. Ricardo Who? talents as a DJ and
producer were among Berlin best-kept secrets. For well over a
decade, he plied his trade, largely unheralded, on the city’s underground
dance music scene.
It was here, via several infamous residencies, that he learnt his craft,
gaining a reputation for ballsy, genre-defying eclecticism, playing sets that
joined the dots between everything from minimal to tropical rhythms, Afro gems and
quirky Middle Eastern disco, to lost proto-house, throbbing techno and
industrial-strength jack-tracks.
His passion for working a dance-floor with “strange music” and “unclassics” is
renowned, and it’s this that makes his sets so special.
This humid, off-kilter obsession with the inspired and unusual has become a
hallmark of Ricardo Who? music, too. Once a key part of the Golden Gate club family.
As a producer Ricardo Who? early releases concocted an extraterrestrial blend of deep
house, techno, and experimental dance, he ties his music to an equally out-of-this-world
mythology. In the age of Internet voyeurism, where social media users brand their own
self-destruction and deprecation for engagement.
Playing Music, Making music & a love for the party scene are the three sole things that
motivate him ', he will not let anyone or anything come between him and making sure
that his unique stamp is on every piece of music released & party put on under the
brands name.
'I eat, breath, sleep and s**t this music' says Ricardo.
Ricardo's raw passion for Music has been with him since childhood but his enthusiasm for
the underground came at the tender age of 16 when he acquired his first pair of Technics
turntables. From this moment on DJ'ing was an obsession for the enthusiastic teenager,
then a few years on upon experiencing his first taste of fruity loops making music &
playing it became the addiction which could never be shaken off.
