Just saw it last week and I generally feel the aesthetics and technical craftsmanship of the film were the true highlights, Robert did an amazing way of creating a immersive experience through everything for the visuals however the story as a whole was quite boring and add nothing new or interesting to the Dracula lore, I see through its visual storytelling they were trying to tell the a feminist angle through lily rose depp’s character however the script didn’t fully let it flush out or conceptualize it even further, i also think lily was spilt between her performance being great through the physicality of it she really through herself into it and executes the physical transformation of it so well but other times when it’s time for her to be less expressive and more subtle she falls flat and almost looks like she’s dead behind the eyes which is crazy to me bc I feel in the idol she did an amazing with the subtle acting so she definitely has it in her own, I feel it was the script that let her down by adding anything else to her character besides her being possessed or hypnotize by Dracula.
