Salomon Quest 4D GTX

We backpacked this past weekend and put another 16 miles on these shoes and still loving them. One of the best purchases made to date!

I read a bunch or reviews of theses boots then went to my local REI and tried them on and all the hipe about these shoes is true I want to buy these boots gonna save up some money and get this shoe can't wait

I believe the Olive/dark olive/black is the only color available for men right now. Hopefully they'll add a different color combination soon but Olive does the job. Great boots!

Best boots ever, I have worn these in horrid conditions in Mud, Snow, Swamp, Rain and they are outstanding. I have walked 500+ Kms in these boots and they are still going strong. I guess there is a reason why these boots are favoured by the special operations community.

Five of the NSW guys on the Bin laden raid wore these exact boots, read Matt Bissonette`s book "No Easy Day" and describes these boots as his choice that night.. These are a real big favourite in the SOF community as a boot of choice...

I'd like to make an update to our initial review of this boot.  This past weekend I spent hiking in mud, wet grass, and an occasional creek.  It was raining all day.  My feet remained dry the entire day.  I intentionally hit all the mud and puddles along the way too.  VERY PLEASED, once again. 

I have a question about the sizing of the boot. I own a pair of Salomon's which are a size 11, while I normally wear a size 9, usually for sneakers, etc. not for boots. This pair is called "SpeedCross 3, which is meant for trailrunning. I am not sure if I should set the pair that I own as a guideline for the online purchase of a pair of Quest 4D's or not. 
P.S.:The "SpeedCross 3" pair fits perfectly and almost too small if I happen to wear thicker socks.

I just bought these boots, and man, these are by far and away the best boots I have ever owned. If you're thinking about getting these, listen to these guys and listen to me, these boots will not let you down. Great review guys,

I saw you answered a question regarding size already, but I wanted to get a little clarification before I order online. I wear an 8.5 in Merrell boots. From your experience, does the size of Merrell translate equally to salomon?

With REI's recent sale of this boot, just picked up another pair for when they're needed. Great boot, great sale price.

Hi can you guys or anyone in the comment thread tell me what the difference between this regular Salomon 4D GTX boot and the Forces Salomon 4D GTX boot which is its military version/counterpart. Like how big is the difference?

What about a shank, lateral stability, are they pronators, stiff sole???? Come on guys, need a little more info.  I just wasted 5 minutes of my life.   No subscription, bros.  I'll revisit in a few months.

The best boots I ever owned. More so than expensive handmade Italian boots... I too was a skeptical before... But no more...

the will leak after few months and they too warm for summer!!!

This boot was used by ST6 (SEAL TEAM 6 ) member Matt Bissonette during the Osama Bin Laden raid and he also lists these boots on the list of gear he used the night of the raid in his book "No Easy Day"

Great review. Just got some of these myself. Also kudos for carrying that table and chairs up to the lake!

Great boots. I wore them around-the-house for basically one day as break-in, then did a five-mile road march with a 40-lb ruck, at slightly-faster than the EIB/Air-Assault pace (eg. <15 minute mile).

No blisters, no hot spots, and my feet didn't hurt. It also poured down rain while I was rucking, and my feet stayed dry.

I bought these boots 3 months ago. Just tried today under rain for 6-7 hours. They are really great but I felt some wetness on my right tonque. It was not like a water cuz It was not inside the shoe exactly. It was like on toe. Could it be sweat ? Cuz weather wasn't cold. Or is it not durable for waterproof ? Please help me :(

I could do without the background music. Kind of stressful trying to listen to you over the music.

They do let in water though .

I've been impressed with their traction too, so much so the boot gives me confidence especially trekking downhill. I own two pair, and highly recommend these boots.

I feel guilty about hiking in these boots. Got the Salomon Quest 4D 2 GTX for Christmas. I hike the AT on the weekends and have about 100 miles on the boots. Never had any blisters or sore feet. It feels like I'm hiking in slippers. The boots fit my feet like a glove.
