i'm not sure if i agree with your assertion that if there is no treatment for a chromosomal aberration, there is no reason to diagnose it. That could apply to many disease states with no treatment but where knowing can manage the progression of the disease or provide additional quality of life treatments.

Also, you should note that Bionano gives away their Saphire machines for free and has a subscription model based on use... I assume they would do the same with their sequencing machines.

Thank you for your analysis. My background are as follows:

* number crunching and making sense of things that are uncertain
* probabilities and risk management.
* I do own BNGO in my portfolio (plenty of bias here).
* I do not understand the genomics space but I find it valuable none the less.
* To understand and gain knowledge, I've read Jennifer Doudna's book "A Crack in Creation". It opened my eyes to the possibility of this technology and continuously searching other materials that are easy read.

Things that I have questions about people making comments about BNGO tech:

1. Have you personally used it?
2. How do you validate the machine in normal operation?
3. Have you used Illumina and Pacbio instruments?

Plenty of literature are coming out from Harvard Medical University, Paris Curie University, and many more the importance of BNGO tech. Reputation is a valuable commodity in genomics. I highly doubt that they would add their name as the main author or co author of published work using BNGO platform.

My conclusion: People are bias because of having substantial position in a particular asset. Whether they work for the company or own their stocks. What is your position in PACB and ILMN?

There is a book by another author regarding Jennifer Doudna - Walter Isaacson "the code breakers". Walter mentioned that he did his own sequencing, cutting and pasting genes with the help of experts while he was learning and writing about the book. A lot of influencers, I believe have not done this to even make a comment about the science of genomics.

I think designer babies will be the future. Human Evolution, were we are in control.

Is bngo new? It's been discussed for months

Um, I’m confused. I was under the impression that Bionano didn’t do sequencing at all. Only mapping... can you elaborate on the sequencing they do? Also there are two hospital systems, one in Germany and another in Canada that are testing Bionano to replace traditional cytogenetic testing in their labs... how can you dismiss the company so easily if these health care systems are so interested??? Can cost of reagents be the only factor here or is it that OGM is faster to conduct the tests and more accurate at finding genome variations?
