The Ending to Fallout 1 is a Gut-Punch

In '97 I was SO FURIOUS at getting kicked out. Thought i was going to lose all my karma. Didn't though.

I actually understand the Overseer's decision here. Like, take a look at what happened to Vault 101 and 3 after they opened their doors. Heck, take a look at Arroyo, the village was still heavily dependent on one person despite them heavily following the Vault Dweller's teachings.

It’s really a perfect ending. It’s an ending that was foreshadowed but still feels like a complete shock the first time you experience it. To me it’s perfection.

To this day...TO THIS DAY. The voiceacting in this game is a beast easily top the new ones.

If I recall correctly, there is also something unique if you have the "Bloody Mess" perk.

Been around PTSD sufferers and that ending makes sense. Imagine going from regular vault dweller to what we end up being by the end of any fallout game. You would have seen and done things that no one in that vault can relate to.

By far the best ending to any fallout game. It’s a sucker punch to your soul and reminds me a lot of cyberpunk 2077 no matter what you do you will not get the ending you wish.

After everything we did for Vault 13, it’d be tragic if we undid all that work of saving it by staying, leaving 13 is a hero’s sacrifice. FO3 without dlc has a similar ending, but the sacrifice is your own life. We could learn something about selflessness from this franchise if people could learn to overcome their ego. It’s kinda why I love it so much.
