Great Video! CWT is a good work option for IU and it’s excluded income.

Thank you making this confusing regulation understandable! Some veterans might find it complicated or impossible to be employed due to continuous needs to attend VA self help groups and/or individual sessions with therapists that can often be more than several times a week.
Most of the 100% PTSD T&P veterans at my VA are at the hospital 3 to 4 times a week or doing Video sessions. I can’t imagine that a lot of employers would be amenable to anything like letting someone take more than half the week off to go to the VA.
It kind of puts a veteran who wants to work and is 100% between a rock and a hard place.
The VA won’t like it if you don’t show up to your therapist or the groups and the employer probably won’t like it either. 🤔

This was great information! So much information out there that just is not disclosed as maybe it should be. Thank you!

I'm 90% rated 50% anxiety 50 sleep apnea 30% chronic kidney disease 20% hypertension 30% gout and 10% gerd
and applied for TDIU for service connection for gout that's still pending. I also receive $2,048 a month social security disability and wonder if the social security I receive will put me over the poverty threshold to qualify for TDIU

Stephanie -- when I received my initial 70% PTSD rating in June 2024, the award letter said I was also being considered for IU provided I submitted VA form 21-8940. Great but during the 30 days I had to submit the form and any other supporting documentation, I had a few mental health "episodes" and didn't get the form submitted in time so I got a follow up letter saying I was denied IU. Well, I've not been able to get employment since and am continuing to struggle. Can I appeal the denial (even though it was my fault I didn't get my form in on time) and share why, along with provide evidence that I qualify for it? The denial letter is dated 8/1/24 so I'm coming up on the 1 yr mark.
