I was ready to go on fall tour in 95 after my 1st show in Chicago which was unfortunately their last show😥. I will still be faithful & make sure they live on anyway I can✊
ОтветитьPhil Lesh is outstanding here. An absolute masterclass in electric bass-playing.
ОтветитьNever trust anyone who dislikes the dead. Ever
Love Jerry's flub too
Jerry= Stratocaster and Fender amps. Lovely. Only other guitars i loved were the SG and the ice driver Travis. Classic
ОтветитьBetter dead than red!!!!
ОтветитьFor SWAY & Moose tonight.
ОтветитьI got to see the boys twice this past summer ... in Darien Lake, NY & Cuyahoga Falls, OH. People asked me which one I liked better ... it is like comparing apples & oranges or which of my children I like best. I can't be done ... every show is its own microcosm ... ever show I have been to since the early 90s has been different ... each show has its on time & space
Ответить68 here sti) love it
ОтветитьNever equaled. Better with the fade-in on original LP that draws you into the record.
ОтветитьBest they ever.put out. Like a train coming at with no dtation around
ОтветитьThe crisp sound and tempo on this version is perfect.
ОтветитьThe Dead lives on!!
ОтветитьPhil getting chonky
ОтветитьThis is the ultimate best version of this awesome tune! This band was so talented.... They were better live than in the studio! Plus they really had fun, and made everyone enjoy each live performance to the fullest! I wish Jerry was still alive! Killer guitarist, and singer / songwriter.... So distinctively unique.

Lyrics By:Robert Hunter
Music By:Jerry Garcia
I had a hard run, runnin' from your window.
I was all night running, running, Lord I wonder if you care,
I had a run in, run around, and run down.
Run around the corner, corner, Lord run smack in to a tree.
I had to move, really had to move,
That's why if you please, I am on my bendin' knees,
Bertha don't you come around here anymore.
Dressed myself in green, I went down unto the sea.
Try to see what's goin' down, try to read between the lines
. I had a feelin' I was fallin', fallin', fallin',
I turned around to see,
Heard a voice al callin', Lord you was commin' after me.
I had to move, really had to move,
That's why if you please, I am on my bendin knees,
Bertha don't you come around here anymore.
Ran into a rainstorm, I ducked back into Novato.
It's all night pourin', pourin', pourin',
Lord but not a drop on me.
Test me, test me,
Test me, test me, test me,
Why don't you arrest me?
Throw me in to the jailhouse,
Lord until the sun goes down, 'till it goes down.
I had to move, really had to move,
That's why if you please, I am on my bendin' knees,
Bertha don't you come around here anymore.
I had to move, really had to move,
That's why if you please, I am on my bendin' knees,
Bertha don't you come around here anymore.
Gosh I love this band! Jerry is a once in a lifetime talent. I'm 42yrs old and started listening to them at 37. Haven't stopped since!
Ответитьphil is plying lead lines all through the song just amazing!
ОтветитьIn High school this cassette LIVED in my VW Superbeetle (license at 16) ! In the glove compartment right next to/or in, the deck that I wired directly from the fuse box. The speaks, another story. Must have listened to this show literally 1000 times in two years ! <3
ОтветитьPhil Lesh is a god
ОтветитьLove Bertha man deadhead fever
ОтветитьJerry:"nice meeting you,Phil"
Phil:"thanks"
Jerry:"play bass for us"
Phil:"I don't know how to play bass"
Jerry:"you're in the band"
prob was at this show. Smokin' Bertha. That's what NYC energy produces.
ОтветитьMot. Dead
ОтветитьMy friends went to this shoe. We lived in the NY suburbs it was a easy trip. I decided not to go and regret it forever.
ОтветитьI miss ole Jerry
ОтветитьOne of those Dead tunes that was never played better than in that first year. Other tunes evolved and got better over time. This one changed and got longer and was always a crowd favorite but it was never played tighter and better than this
ОтветитьThis be a foot tapper
ОтветитьGreat music too bad the drugs fucked it up
ОтветитьHow many times does the Grateful dead sing about jail,or drugs, it was always the man coming down on us, fuck them
ОтветитьI've been to county and it sucks.,
ОтветитьCoffee bean grinders make perfect weed flower mixer uppers! Sativa preferred
ОтветитьHappy Birthday buddy
ОтветитьI just heard this on my Echo dot deal ("Alexa") after asking the gal to play "Grateful Dead." I 've heard Bertha many times before but as I listened I thought thiswas one of Jerry's most expressive solos. I'm not looking for comparisons or "bests" just looking for aficionados to turn me on to other Jerry solos (could be other Berthas) that you like.
Thanks. Peace.
It amazes me still that they never played the same set list twice in a raw, and in fact didn’t know what they were going to play next. That is genius

ОтветитьI'm English - saw the Dead in London in 1972 and 1974. Went to Marin Country in 1980 to see the Jerry Garcia Band and then after my first divorce in 2011 to see Bob Weir. They are my favourite group - so many great songs and amazing improvisation!
ОтветитьI had a hard run but I'm better now. Thank you Jerry❤
ОтветитьThis is a song about an old green Fan that would move All over the office at Grateful Dead studios.. 🤔
Check out the story, Very interesting...✌️
Rest in peace Phil Lesh! 😢
ОтветитьMy first road trip as a Freshman in HS to Va. Beach with my buddy and Skull & Roses was the 8 (sound) track of that trip. RIP Jerry and Phil and thank you for the memories.
ОтветитьI saw the Grateful Dead I think it was 1971 Colombus, Ohio Haloween night, I still haven't recovered!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьBertha pairs too well with shrooms.
ОтветитьGreat for enjoying, not a lifestyle ?
ОтветитьTimeless song.
