this video is 3 years old i refuse to believe that xenia has gotten worse so is my pc just terrible? 2 hours of config tweaks and mods and im still getting broken gameplay

Why not play the Wii or PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed using the dolphin or PCSX2 emulator?

Xenia is pretty good, but you need a high-tier PC for it to run pretty well. But sometimes the game just crashes for no reason and sometimes the game will just not work for no reason as well. I was able to finish the first night and day stage and then after the night stage the game kept crashing, so, I wouldn't really recommend Xenia. Perhaps you have a pretty good PC and you don't mind the game occasionally crashing. I think Xenia will become a lot more playable in 2 or 5 years, so just wait and stay updated about the emulator.

And now just 3 years later i can run it on a puny gtx 750 ti with little frame drops and no crashes if you use vulkan. A consistent crash softlocks you at jungle joyride day if you use directx12

i dunno 2 years ago but u can experience this game from a new save and restart it too ur will. that's what i'm doin and i'm nearly done with the game. this game has been a blast and (minus the crashes and flashbanges) this has been a way better firstplaythrough then if i were to play it any other away. especially with mods that fix a whole lot of stuff on xenia and improve stuff like resolution. this game for sure needs a pc port. way more then generations which ALREADY HAS ONE SO IDK WHY THEY DECIDED TO REMASTER THAT THEN THIS GAME. anyway this is definitive way to play this game at this time.

there are mods for xenia like improving warehog gameplay overall, smooth boost bar which just means it goes down instead of 1 chunk at a time, upscaled ui and hd pre rendered movies. and also ps icons on xenia since i cannot stand xbox icons. ik the buttons mapping i'm just too hardwired to ps. also i prefer unleashed mapped to the square and not x. was one of my big gripes with generations. but since i would lose air boost if i modded it to square i had no choice but to keep it mapped on x for it. BUT HAHA NOT UNLEASHED THAT'S HOW IT ALWAYS IS SO I LOSE OUT ON NOTHING

Dunno if somebody commented this already, but the reason it feels like it runs better the more you play, is because as new textures and animations load in, Xenia caches those textures and animations, so they can be reused in points where the same animations and textures are. So the first playthrough of a level might be rough, but the second playthrough is smooth.

for me, the game crashes, on the desert werehog stage so if I keep playing will it stop?

Does sega allow emulation for sonic?

If you find the Werehog parts fun then you should play Devil May Cry games. You'll get a kick out of those games.

now the best way to play unleashed is in the xbox series s/x version

The pc version is literally how it looks on xenia. Love it

actually, you don't need a very strong pc to emulate an old console and an old game they work pretty good on my laptop which is a 2014 laptop

Still looks incredible and better than even the newer sonic games.

An engine problem is not it since generations also uses the same engine.

I played unleashed on my wii and god I had so much fun and looking at it on pc wants me to play it again

Unleashed was on Ps4 for the time they were doing that "PS Now" gamepass thing and it looked and played really good

Just got the CD soundtrack for this game today at 2:25p.m. and it's the Planetary Pieces Sonic World Adventure Original Soundrack CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 7:22p.m. 6/15/2023

You'd be happy to know that it's now possible to play the game from start to finish at 60FPS on Xenia! Although I wouldn't be surprised if you already knew this.

Actually i've never had any problem with the medals because i like exploring the hub world and side missions so naturally i collect the.
And even better,i didn't know that they are meant to unlock new stages until 2022 (i played the game for the first time in 2015 😂😂)

with the help of xenia canary, u can play the full game without crashes! With some bugs like visual bugs and 2-5 frame drop every now and then. To play like this, just go to the config file and change to gpu from “any” to “vulkan”

I recently finished this game on Xenia Canary (yes, it is fully playable now with little to no crashes, at least from what I've seen), and wow was it quite the experience. While yeah, it ran at like 15-20 FPS on my system, I've had the most fun I've ever felt since freaking Hollow Knight (and that game was a near perfect masterpiece!). That's how you know it's awesome.

is it really that laggy on xbox? haven't seen many frame drops (except in the night stages) unless its just 30 fps and thats why it doesnt look so smooth
anyway i'm playing on the 2010 x360 slim
it might be more laggy on my pc on xenia.but on rpcs3 25 fps at most. and most of the time 20 or 10 fps.a lot more playable on the 360
