Do like the way he says "mooon"!

But feel a bit sorry for our "moon".

All the other "moons" in solar system have names.

But our "moon" is nameless still

Bit like having a dog, and calling it "dog".

So let's start a petition to name the moon....

My vote?

Alan!

👍😁

How exactly is it that the effect of DART was so much higher than expected? The only thing I can figure is that the mass of the asteroid was greatly underestimated?

Hey - Every UFO case you can think of has been well debunked. You should spend time on Metabunk.

While I’m annoyed by your lack of a scientific or skeptical approach to UFO’s, I love the topics you cover. Also you’ve got a strangely calming voice. Super helpful for people with insomnia. Not to say it’s not interesting - quite the opposite actually.

300 years in the future, JMG-ETA_9 releases a new video. Having become a prophetic entity in the intervening centuries, the intelligence for a long time has been drifting farther into the abstract. The videos now, mostly flashes of color, mutating morphing sounds which seem to not only convey, but fundamentally recreate the ideas and thoughts recorded. Like the entity is inside you, building you from wretched pieces, fighting the entropic desires of BNet. The ecstasy and awe of unveiled grand truths takes you and as you give yourself over completely to sensation it happens again..

It's been growing for over 300 years now! And recently seems to take more than 90% of the brain space available in the transmission. You close your eyes and wonder, where did it come from? Some kind of growing mind virus? Some corruption of the original brain recording, from back when "humans" had only just started the great merge? Surely it couldn't have been expanding at such a rate for that long! It's a wonder that the transmissions even continue at all! As you sit and resign yourself to the now comfortable drone, you wonder if at some point these sounds may have had some meaning to the primitives who enjoyed them, maybe at one point they were even words. Drifting into a meditative state, trapped in the mindspace until transmission complete all you hear is, "This wonderful universe in which we Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..."

Nice program. But any asteroids or comets could have their orbits suddenly disturbed by the mass of anything large enough that it may get close to at anytime. Calculating orbits is fine. But we will have to set up monitering outposts all over the inner solar system to try and catch incoming trajectories from any direction at any time. We would also have to test more theory for disturbing different types of composition ,mass, and volume asteroids and comets . And also at different velocity . Sounds like some difficult calculations are in order before our species could even dream of getting closer to a valid asteroid defense network. And it would definitely not happen very soonas it's likely to take an enormous amount of time and resources , capital, willpower, and priority which interferes in the artificialness of capitalism , which is clearly artificially fake like jesus and has no real value other than that which two parties agree upon. But you have to think on a higher level to see all that which is.

Truly advanced aliens would'nt need capitalism or trade to evolve. They would reject that as a waste of time. To simplify the problem they would consider that we're all organisms and input parameters into the solution by trying to consider all the problems and then try to solve each one . Then slowly over vast amounts of time they would try to accumulate top solutions to every potential possible problem. since we are all organisms a solution parameter would be the basis of a question to begin. (How would we satisfy everyone concisely needwise being conservative and not wasting energy or time? How do we get things done? How do we maneuver around work , tasks , and neccessities? How can we quantify what is reasonable? And to whom? But you have to figure when aliens ,even our species of alien runs into universal chaos how helpless we would all be in a disaster like an asteroid colliding with earth. Or countless other dangers ,sometimes hidden, that lurk around the dark corridors of time. capitalism is alot like diabetes and too many carbs and sugars leading to the vast majority of our health problems. I understand we don't need capitalism or trade to exist. But we still have to solve all of the problems. overpopulation squeezes our resources. That indicates we need to reduce population to sustainable levels. But we also need to improve sexual function and gratification. And we're not. That's a problem of capitalism. We also have a billion insane people who are concentrated in finance and wealth. The earth is an insane asylum. That needs to be addressed. Then that's compounded by the prevalence of low intelligence rates across the board and a clear lack in the development department. Half the planet's population has IQs of 100 or less. 76% has IQs of 115 or less. And many of the higher IQs are'nt very well developed intellectually. And then there's the random chaos that is very prevalent in the universe. People need to think about things alot and very often to solve a larger percentage of all potential problems. Even if those have not occurred yet! We can't solve all of them. But slowly over many lifetimes our fledgling species might solve a tiny fraction of them. And though small the added abilities could get our species into off world habitats and long term life support after the earth changes to the point where that is no longer possible. Well we know if they evolve far enough they won't be using money in the future. That insinuates that some people are special. We know that's not true at all. You have to push your minds and be honest with yourselves about yourself . At least be honest with yourself about yourself. That's a beginning.Don't be fooled by the illusions going on around you. There is no inflation. It's a figment of your imagination like money and jesus. It is'nt real. Only the insane believe that.

Anything coming at earth will be vaporised by Russian nukes - as putin says, what future is there without Russia?

Interesting.
Great pics, too!
But I'll add that the ability of intelligent life to travel in space, in person (in alien?), such as is needed to visit a planet's satellite, isn't even a necessary step to be able to redirect an incoming asteroid. For instance, if the planet is in an orbit which allows its inhabitants to see the debris in "nearby" space, the intelligent life there might, out of pure necessity, develop a space launch system for unaliened craft to be launched at those orbiting objects to protect themselves from impacts. But who knows, really?

Multiple impact hypotheses are fascinating. I've been following Randall Carlson on his Younger Dreyus event around 12,000 years ago. It opens up an entire conversation on impact theories and how they happen and what to look for when an impact theory is formulated.

I think if we launch an unmanned giant dildo-shaped rocket into space, there may be an enormous uptick in space interest among the younger generations. It would get lots of attention and jokes and people couldn't possibly NOT pay attention to space exploration. Why is this idea not being talked about?

Recently I've heard about a doomsday theory that focuses on the sun being the culprit. The scenario being the sun producing a micro nova every 16k to 20k years. This event would cause pole shift setting off earthquakes and volcanoes on a global scale. I'm not sure of the specifics to this theory and it's a new one to me.

Why does the Iridium data point towards an asteroid does it have to do with isotope ratios? We have known about Iridium from Chicxulub for a long time and one of the lines of evidence supporting a cometary origin is that it appears to have a carbonaceous chondrite like isotope ratio as several sampled comet return missions have found the same ratios in comets as carbonaceous chondrites which is one of the lines of evidence suggesting such asteroids likely represent extinct cometary bodies.
Also worth noting there are at least 3 other confirmed or suspected impact structures which look to be of a similar age so this may very well have been an fragmentation event just one that would mostly likely be due to the Sun and or Jupiter rather than Earth.

You should consider adding the Serpent Mound impact structure in Ohio to your list of 38th Parallel impacts from this possible event. It's actually near the 39th parallel and its age is not terribly certain, but estimated to be near 320 million years ago.

If you have any doubts that this is an actual impact site, I've been out to the site myself with one of the guys who mapped it (another one was one of my professors) and I have two sets of actual shatter cones, one of them from that hike.
