first time i encountered a tiger 900(t400) was in the late 90's at the triumph dealership in orange county, my friend was checking out the daytona which looks like a size too big duck 998, and i perused through the used and saw an unusual tiger900(t400), it really sparked something in me since i was already riding supermoto back then when it was not popular at all in the USA at the time, one thing that of course held me back was that triumph the brand was a re-established brand and every moto magazine questions its quality and reliability. even the speed triple the god father of street fighters was too much of an oddity state side, but alas back in those days it was price and questionable quality a big gamble when tl1000's or even dl1000's are practically being shoved out of showrooms en masse. btw at one point i thought that the 1050 was the best looking when it first came out. unfortunately i never pulled the trigger on a triumph
Ответитьgreat video . ill keep riding my 96" Steamer . my third Triumph !
ОтветитьReally good video. Personally I have owned Tiger 800 2014, Africa Twin 2016 and now a Tiger 955i.
ОтветитьMIght be deemed a bit sexist to market a Tigress scooter these days.
ОтветитьThanks for all the Steamer love! The most iconic of them all!
ОтветитьI have a 2017 tiger 800 and before that a 2004 tiger 955 in Lucifer red. The main difference is the 800 is lighter and more refined, while a 955 is an animal ! Open it up at the lights and you had trouble keeping its front wheel down, as for power just give it a handful and it did roar and go like a bat out of hell. Must admit I like the new tiger bur really miss the my 955. Still have the same reaction from older people who used to ride triumphs years ago, you can spend hours talking to people about bikes and what they got up to in 50’s and 60’s. As they say once a biker always a biker.
ОтветитьBought my 955 black Tiger new in march 2002. Now it’s 2024, April. The bike is better than ever, the optics are still so intriguing, a bit like allessi -designs, it’s pure motorcycling without any riding modes etc. I bought the bike without ever sitting on one before and, coming from Thumpers, that was a new world. Hope, we can go on the next ten+ years…
ОтветитьMy old man had a 1939 tiger 100 with bronze head. Was rare with this head but he did over 100K miles with a chair but did take engine out and do work on it on kitchen table
ОтветитьOf all the Tigers, the 955i is the one I love the most.
ОтветитьI’m planning to buying one.
Apparently it is a tall bike.
I’m 5,7 and I wonder if this bike will fit me? Thanks
I own a 2006. Here in Brazil it is difficult to maintain the bike, but I am firm on my journey. I've already made several trips to Brazil, which is a huge country. Now I'm planning to go to Argentine Patagonia.
ОтветитьMy first Tiger was a 06 955i which I loved, moved on to a 1050 in 2010, that was a great road bike. Upgraded ? to Tiger Sport and then Explorer 1200 RTX . Last year bought a 900 GT Pro and love this bike as it's a good all rounder with lots of modern toys. I have toured all over Europe on all of them and had lots of fun on them all.
ОтветитьI have a 2005 Tiger here in the US and I've only seen one other like it on the road. Love the bike, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it
ОтветитьAfter a year of research and test riding all the big bore adventure bikes, I bought a '23 Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer, brand new, out of the crate. I've had it for about 18 months now. After 18,000 kms, I could not be happier. No regrets whatsoever. 👌
ОтветитьI’m still surprised the steamer has not attracted collectors, many are still being broken for parts rather than repairing and keeping on the road.
Mine sat in a damp garage for 24 years and was in a right mess … slowly getting her back on the road … only 3500 miles
