Im a colorado Tech university student, I live in northwest oregon near longview. When you first mentioned "Saddle Mountain" early in the video, i first thought you meant Saddle Mountain near Astoria-Seaside Oregon area. lol. Great video, I enjoyed the lecture very much.
ОтветитьProfessor, you’re definitely the Bob Ross of geology I hope that’s a compliment because you’re awesome
ОтветитьWatching from Orlando, Florida and stayed through the whole thing. And, I did not even have to! You tell an interesting story and explain it well. Happy Trails.
ОтветитьI thought I was excited about rocks...
ОтветитьSpokanite. Our beloved river could use a discussion. It looks topographically like Colombia might have one gone through for, of maybe its a glacial valley I see. has the Spokane CDA drainage had similar study?
ОтветитьSure would make your life easier if you just admitted Noah’s flood.

ОтветитьSaved this years ago hoping i would come back. Today is the day.
ОтветитьYou have billions of years figured out but still in denial of the worldwide flood 4000 years ago. You have to wait to stand before God The Father to get it right
ОтветитьEvery student needs a teacher like this!
ОтветитьWow! Thank you sir
ОтветитьAll happened in 6 thousand years
ОтветитьI thought Union Gap was formed during the Glacial Lake Missoula Floods.
ОтветитьOur Elementary Schools should be Taught this Education. Making it Interesting, Field Trips. 70 yrs old i was always interested in Geology as a Child and still am. Understanding Our Earth, Homeland. Education is the Answer to More Respect.
ОтветитьVery well spoken! I totally enjoyed watching this! Up for learning something new every day! Thanks so much ☺️
ОтветитьYou're talking about how the landscape has changed? And the rivers changing their directions. When I was a kid, I heard that rooster Rock in Oregon millions of years ago was a mountain bigger than mount hood So the Columbia river couldn't have been going through there. It had to have gone around.
ОтветитьLove your voice s I learned so much about washington
ОтветитьCanada true pnw. You should mention it's usa pnw. Made a Canadian click bait. Js.
ОтветитьAnd the great Missoula flood Karma that carved out the Columbia River Gorge that's why we have River Rock in Scappoose Oregon
ОтветитьI admire how much you enjoy giving full credit to the peeps who gathered all this information and drew their conclusions, and the great map makers that lay it all out. Your interpretation and presentation are beguiling.
ОтветитьUtah was under sea water centuries ago , my daddy told this to me years ago just like the river path changes man can not change it river is to mighty spokae is loaded with volcanic rock
ОтветитьThat was fun! I grew up on the Columbia and know where all the referenced locations are. I’ve never had much interest in rocks except to find flat ones to skip across the lake. But this vid changed that. I want to take a drive from Portland to Revelstoke and look for rocks. Thank you!
Ответитьi love this guy!
ОтветитьI’m L👀KING For The “Old” Snake River Channel in The Blue’s? Any Clue? Due TeLL!

ОтветитьYou will find quartzite in the Wallowa mountains and up the Eagle Cap wilderness
ОтветитьBest trout fishing you'll ever find in the planet, back in the 70s Lewiston Idaho is like a paradise I have no idea what it's like today.
ОтветитьNick - that was fabulous! You made it so fun learning about the rivers. We need more people like Nick to teach all of us. Thank you. I will watch again and again.
ОтветитьBorn Sunnyside, raised Grandview and you just wiped out my entire “understanding “ of “my” eastern Washington! I recognize every place name you mentioned but I never knew there was sooo much beach frontage over there ( I’m on the coast now.) WOW!
ОтветитьCompletely ignores Ferry County
ОтветитьGotta love the chalk on the pants!!! Bravo blackboards!!!
ОтветитьVista House area was once named Thor's Crown...
ОтветитьMethow Valley Puh-tay-tuhs'...
ОтветитьLots of gold discovered throughout the area around Blewitt Pass...
ОтветитьYou should add a map of the Mt. Saint Helens area before and after the 1980 eruption and mark the changes made in the landscape and how they impacted the rivers nearby.
ОтветитьThe Columbia used to flow through Washtucna and Klodus.
ОтветитьInteresting lecture, a lot of assumptions, especially when it comes to the "grab out of the air" millions of years ideas. This lecture sadly seems to be leaving out flows of water, mud, "river rocks", and other materials (wood that petrified), brought down through the PNW by the ice age Montana ice dam break flows which greatly influenced the geology of this area.
Ответитьa truly informative video , thank you for teaching me something new today !
ОтветитьNow I know why this guy was one of my cousins favorite teachers at Central! If more teachers were like him, they could actually keep kids interested and engaged.
ОтветитьYou got my attention 😂 watch the whole thing 👏👏👏
Interesting 🤔 history, I enjoy fly fishing 🎣 on those rivers.
Thank you
This is one of the most fascinating lectures of any subject I have ever listened to
ОтветитьI brought my 17 year old niece in to re-watch the video just to show her what an example of a great teacher and she totally agreed. She has never ever had any interest in geology but now she has. Thank you been watching your videos for some time now and always enjoy them. Once again Koodoo's on being a great presenter and teacher.
ОтветитьI miss you. You're the best teacher!!!! Thank you!
