Thank you for this video. I’m a blind person who really loves audio production, production and is really wanting to open my own recording studio thank you so much. I can’t wait to watch the next video and learn some really valuable advice thank you and have a blessed day.

Definitely relate to this video. For me it was the complete opposite. I knew I wasn’t going to be working on bands. Most of my area is rappers and singers so I purchased things vocal chain specific knowing my audience and workflow…. Great informative video

The biggest mistakes I see is following the hype, and buying cheap cables.

right now i’m trying to upgrade my vocal chain purely for personal use. the UAD Sphere DLX/Apollo setup i have right now isn’t cutting it for the studio-grade quality i’m looking for. The upgraded vocal chain I’m looking into is the Lauten Atlantis -> BAE 1073 DMP -> Neumann MT 48. for pop, r&b, hip-hop, and indie/alternative vocals, do you think this is a solid upgrade?

Yeah I hear you on trying gear first, had to take loss on a couple pieces, which I regret. As far as new gear, I try to rarely add new gear to my set up, there’s the learning curve aspect, then you have to fit it into your already established workflow, without it becoming a door stop.

don't buy the expensive $10,000 mic, buy the cheap $2-3k mic... it's basically free

Good Stuff... There needs to be more videos like this. Some people can afford to go to school to get educated or don't really have the passion for a deep understanding on what can work and what just gonna be sitting around. I think if people can't afford schooling then buying audio engineering books would be the better option instead of buy any studio gear. Your videos are spot on with the topics.

Hi. Thx for sharing.
What do you think of the SSL2+ interface. What do you think about them vs. Apogee. No one is able to give this an answer about the Heritage audio i73 interface. Is the AD to DA better than the SSL, or is it closer to RME . Even L&M couldn't. I know you're from Toronto, so am I. Etobicoke.
