I think I actually went through, in a way, stages of grief in discovering Dimash. Over days, I could identify, when I thought about it, the shock at what he can do and denial that I could possibly be hearing what I was hearing. But I actually got angry that someone could be that talented and depressed that I could never achieve even close to that level. But I’ve ended up in a place of not just acceptance and joy at his music but true inspiration in both my vocal journey and my other artistic endeavors.

Igor, on the piano came out of retirement when he heard Dimash. He realized that the piano keyboard was no longer a restriction for his compositions. He no longer was contained by vocalists who had very good 3 1/2 octave ranges. Here was a vocalist who could escape all conventional confines. This young man has a range spanning six octaves. According to various sources, he has been heard live (Stranger) hitting a C2 and D8 (Unforgettable Day). His whistle register can hit notes in the eighth octave.
