I don't understand one thing...

If all chelates disassociate from the magnesium in the stomach itself, then why is there a difference in absorption rates, given that it's just the magnesium ions in all cases?

What’s the difference between mag biglycinate and glycinate?
I have biglycinate and it’s been the most effective for my symptoms(from all the kinds I’ve tried) but I’m wondering if maybe just glycinate would be better for me ? 🤔 (anxiety, muscle cramps and weakness, heart health)

My understanding is that Magnesium Bisglycinate is so small (Dalton's) that it crosses the stomach lining intact and doesn't separate until it's inside the cell which is not what you said. My understanding is that it is one of the only forms that is not dependent on stomach acid. If true your explanation should be updated/corrected.

This explains why an electrolyte supplement I took was fine normally but caused muddy monsoons when I took it while fasting.
It was the type of magnesium used that unleashed the chocolate labs.

Now it’s clear to be careful what type of magnesium is used in an electrolyte mix.

Is Vitamin D w/K2 effective, in an oil form, dropped into water that has magnesium glycinate dissolved in it? I know D is fat soluble so I was wondering if it was dropped in water w/mag, is it now ineffective? Thanks! ✨️

Topical magnesium be it chloride or sulfate (Epsom salts) are poorly absorbed and do not raise your magnesium levels inside the body i.e. No noticeable increase
Lots of claims to the contrary... but try finding a study that measures an increase.

Magnesium citrate was the only form of Mg that noticeably raised my hair Mg... indicating that it had been incorporated into the body as an organic molecule.
Presumably other forms remain as inorganic Mg... which would be much less useful to the body.

I'm a bit puzzled. While I was on hydroxocobalamin injections every other day, between 2-5 mg of folinic acid every day and normal DRI iron my histamine issues/MCAS symotoms went away almost completely except what I presume is irreversal damage that have come from the dysautonomia that have caused my erectile dysfunction and visual disturbances. Anyway... I couldn'y tolerate any B-complex. I tried methylated ones as well as "normal" ones. My blood glucose spiked until I stopped taking them. So I was on these 3 suppliments alone. And all of a sudden more than half my beard grew out as comoletely white. Big patches of whitw beard. So I stopped and ordered a test for zink levels as well as magnesium. And withour taking any magnesium for a couple of months my levels was outside normal range. Since I had ordered ir myself and not through my GP she just said it wasn't that bad and not very far out of range. So she didn't investigate this further.

I wonder what the reason could be. I'm still prety sick and my MCAS have returned after I stopped the treatment. But I had a period still without symptoms even after I stopped treatment that lasted like 3-4 months before the symptoms came creeping back.

I used to use mag citrate itS widely available and cheap and works fast for muscle cramps and dissolving oxalate stones, however I mainly use the glycinate form now. This is because I dont wantmy Ceruloplsmin levels affected (Copper transporter) my health, back, and shoulder have improved as well as chronic fatigue, and sleep. Thank you Morley Robbins. Ответить
@linamarie84
@linamarie84 - 31.10.2024 00:05

My Dr started me on 400mg of Magnesium Glycinate.

I was taking it with
-Gaba
-Very low dose B Complex
-5 HTP
-DLPA
-Vitamin D

The reason I started is because I spiraled and lost my appetite, smell, taste, depression, etc. Extreme fight or flight.. Insomnia...Bloating and so on.

I was told by my other Doctor that the dosages im taking are far far too low.

Ie.
My vitamin D levels were below the lowest point. They gave me standard 25/ 1000.

He said I needed to take at least 30,000...

600mg of magnesium...

Much higher dosages 0f B complex...

And to take Magnesium at night...

With so many different statements its frustrating.
I began testing it out by taking certain ones at different times..

I know they say magnesium helps some with bowel movements and or causes diarrhea.

I have constipation and can go over a week without and nothing has helped.

Do you have any thoughts in terms of what to take at what time and what is absorbed more or not with food etc?

I alternate taking two different types of magnesium 7. They both contain most of the same types of magnesium, but they each have some different types of magnesium. This way I don’t over load my system by taking both one time, but get all the types of magnesium within a 48 period. Not seeing any problem with this process.

I also use ionic magnesium liquid as needed for ibs/constipation. I put it in organic decaf coffee. It works great!
