SoFi is a bank, but not just a bank. It is the fastest growing bank in the US in terms of assets held. A year ago SoFi was ranked as the 459th largest bank in the US, and now it is within the top 65. The longer term corporate ambition is to be among the top ten banks in the US.

It also has two other business segments. One of them is the financial services segment, and the other is a technology platform. The tech segment provides the platform that other financial companies need to use in order to function online. Companies like Robinhood and Chime are users of SoFi's tech platform.

Just a little extra fundamental information for you. SoFi's next earnings report will be coming up on the morning of October 29. I imagine the stock may continue grinding up and consolidate until then. If we see a stronger move to the upside, it will probably be on or after that date. The SOFI stock has almost always popped on earnings calls because they have never missed a beat since they have been a public company. The question is, can they hang on to any of those gains this time? In the past, most of those earnings calls have been a pump followed by a dump. It has been a heavily shorted stock for a couple years now, but the short sellers have been gradually returning shares lately.
