Wharfedale D320 vs Polk Audio Signature S15 with Marantz PM7000N - One of the best Budget Speakers

The D320 should listen without a grills. Without them, there is much better resolution and clarity.

D320 more detail and rich, Polk more bright on Treble , but look weak and dry.

Wharfedale sounds more laid back. I prefer the sound of the Wharfedales.

I feell the Polk S15 is on the lean, bright side of neutral, but they sound a touch more open and transparent in the midrange than the Wharfdales.
The Marantz seems nice and smooth sounding.

I can feel the Polk better than the Wharfwdale

I like the polk more, the wharfedale has this muffled airy bass unlike the polk its more balance, but both were constructed beautifully

They sound pretty close to each other. The polks are definitely brighter though. You'd probably be happy with either based on this video

Lower mids on the Wharfdales are recessed, but they are right up front on the Polks. I give the edge to Polks for that reason.

polk can be listened longer than wharfedales, but both sound amazing, can't say anyone less than the other, they are just different, i prefer polk more.

Bass wise, kinda the same. Treble wise, the Polk is brighter but the Wharfedale has enough treble. I would be confused to pick either one. Have always loved the warm sound of Wharfedales but in a HT setup you also want it to be a touch brighter up there. Phew!

The Warfedales sounded muffled to me, the Polks had a clarity that the Warfedales didn't have to my ears.

Could you retest this without the grills on D320?
They really sound like there's some echo, like I'm sitting in a huge empty hall, weird.

Warfidale sounds more balanced and does not tire. The abundance of high shelf goes beyond.

what I find most important is such small speakers is their ability to blend in with a subwoofer and a pair of tower speakers in order to get the full benefit of Dolby atmos listening.
