Mass Effect 3 - Should You Recruit Chakwas or Michel as Normandy’s Doctor?

Dr. Chakwas is one of my favorite NPCs.

In my headcanon chakawas saved tali and helped Miranda with healing Shepard after the perfect destroy and attended their bonding on Ranoch with the rest of the crew

The 2 Mass Effect doctors that serve on the ship, the Normandy's Dr. Karin Chakwas and the Tempest's Dr. Lexi T'Perro, are both voiced by actresses with really soothing voices.

They do address the first name in Andromeda but only if you chose one of the starting names. Which I thought was pretty cool

Fun Fact👉I’ve played through the Mass Effect trilogy about 20 times over the years, and always thought that Chakwa was the only option to choose for my doctor.

Tried it on a restart that I didn't intend to fully play through, just wanted to see the jealousy byplay between Ash and Tali that I'd heard about. Don't pick Michel, she's boring and adds virtually nothing to the events.

As a FemShep player who romances Garrus, Dr Michel can stay FAR AWAY from my boyfri-- I mean my Normandy.

You can still get the "chocolates" line with Tali even if you brought Chakwas back to the Normandy. Just make sure to take Garrus to the Dreadnaught and they'll say the same thing. I have never not gotten this dialogue.

She’s been there since the beginning and she even got abducted by the Reaper’s and when you ask if she’ll join you again, she doesn’t hesitate and accepts willing to possibly go through that experience again. And as you said, she joined Cerberus (if I remember right) once she learned you were alive to take care of you. She’s a real one.

If you speak to Chakwas in ME2 after the Collector base mission she'll tell Shepard that they (Shepard and Joker) are the best friends she's ever had.
Imagine hearing that and then telling her to her face "yeah, we don't really want you anywhere near us. Please stay where you are." 💔😭

Now like taking Michel and putting Chakwas on the Citadel, for nothing but causing chaos 😂

Yeah, Dr. Michel was a bit obvious about her affection for Garrus in that ME2 email she sent. She was sooooo thirrrrrsty! 😂😂😂 I wanted to romance him and hire her as the doctor just to rub her nose in it 😂😂😂 unfortunately, she didn't react...at all. Which sucked!

You should pick Dr Michel because in Mass Effect 3 you are actually playing Armistan Banes. Now her conversation with Engineer Adams hints at Armistan Banes being the Cerberus agent you played as in Mass Effect 2 and I'm still open to that, but I like to think that the imposter you play as in Mass Effect 2 is Captain Harris Fairchild of the Hugo Gernsback.

Michel. Hands down. Chakwas deserves some time off the Normandy after the collector base.

My ultimate argument is that Michel will have plenty of time to talk with Garrus about calibrations ;)

Dr. Michel is so underrated. I just wish ME3 expanded on her feelings for Garrus a lot more and actually made them a couple if you brought her onto the Normandy.

Go with Michel. Chakwas has a bit of a drinking problem.

One thing not covered fully here is that each Dr. upgrades your medigel in a different way. If you chose and recruited Dr. Michel, she increases the amount of medi-gel you can carry, increasing it from 8 to 10 max. If it's Dr. Chakwas, however, she says that she's increased the efficiency of the medi-gel.

I'd say if having some extra medigels appeals to some players then Michel is the way to go. A few of the tougher fights in the Armax Arena for example, might be times when certain players are using a lot of medigel.
