Thanks for the video, it's very useful, I am just an enthusiastic amateur when it comes to sound, I play in cover bands and try and do the sound to the best of my ability but it's tough with very tight time scales and then also doing it from the 'stage' during the gig (although go out the front now and again during the gig).

The things I tend to struggle with are feedback, mixing drums, getting the lead vocal above everything else and things like settings for compression and gate. I just got a CQ18T to replace an XR18, some amazing features on there that definitely help like feedback assistant and smart channels.

Looking forward to more videos!

I have a drumset i want to set up with a sm57 under the snare and an audix d6 for the kick for an outdoor show. Do i plug these into an interface then directly into a speaker or do i need a mixer? Im new to everything!

I've been doing this for years and I don't know why everybody keeps telling me that everything sounded really good.
Band after band this year and last year of been walking off the stage saying it was amazing and you're great to deal with and I'm like I don't know I just don't turn up the suck knob.

Just bumped into your video. Very well-spoken. I have a group of volunteers at a church that I am trying to train (convince) that mixing should be done a certain way. You described the basics very well and if you are okay with it I might use segments fo your video for training purposes.
