Wisdom.
ОтветитьWhile I don't have a million dollars, I am getting fairly close to having fuck you money. Turns out, you can have that same level at a low cost city while making $40,000 a year and investing wisely.
ОтветитьOwn your house, have a couple of bucks in the bank, don't drink.
ОтветитьOnly a maniac would be that deep in the hole with two deadly loan sharks and would borrow that much money from a man who will kill your loved ones if you die before he's done ruining you and your family's life.
At that point just blow your own brains out and be done with it.
A little overwritten but so what. Goodman is great.
ОтветитьNever seen this remake. All I hear is blah blah blah blah blah. Brevity is the soul of youknowwhat people. Cut the chatter by 80% and you will be more effective.
ОтветитьWords of absolute wisdom
ОтветитьJohn Goodman is just ridiculously good in this movie. He projects fear with an ease that is amazing. No screaming, no obvious physical threat.
ОтветитьJohn Goodman could literally play John madden 🙄
ОтветитьJohn Goodman is in a fuck you position. He can tell any director fuck you.

ОтветитьDave Ramsey should have this on a soundboard for whenever the bitcoin hustlers /overleveraged property owners call in.

ОтветитьThings appears to be going well for Herc after being fired from The forcé
ОтветитьThis 4 minute clip is all you need to know about financial success. Simple. That’s it.
ОтветитьI like when he was telling him the gravity of his situation. When he squinted his eyes, it made them look like they were black.
ОтветитьAs someone who drives an indestructible jap economy shit box....its glorious and i love it.
ОтветитьJohn Goodman acting his ass off while Wahlberg the hack tries to keep up
ОтветитьThis right here is the best lesson in life, not the part about gambling and all the other bullshit, BUT, the part about: "What do you want to be able to say to me?" Nail that and life opens up like a fucking oyster.
ОтветитьThis is such a great scene in such an okay film!
Ответитьphenomenal acting
ОтветитьIts interesting to see and hear Goodman in this scene. He gives mark EVERY CHANCE to get out. He wants to understand and he wants to help him. But he also recognizes addiction and knows that he can't be gentle about it. Especially after hearing how deep he was in for. I think that's what makes his last scene in the movie so poignant. Offers free money, a free ride because he is a man of principle, and still gets turned down. He's like a proud parent that see's their child actually learn a life lesson.
ОтветитьJohn Goodman is just simply The Man for certain roles such as this and certainly the drug dealer to those with money in “Flight”. A lot like James Gandolfini was made for certain roles as well. The gay hitman on “The Mexican”, the stuntman single dad on “Get Shorty” and of course Tony Soprano. Roles that nobody else could have played with near the same perfection.
ОтветитьBuy Dogecoin!
ОтветитьMy Bible!!!
ОтветитьGoodman awesome.
Ответитьmost people do t know, this is a remake.
ОтветитьWhen John Goodman said “Jap economy shit box” he was referring to a Toyota Corolla and I’m sure a lot of people didn’t get the reference lol
ОтветитьHow do you make dialogue this good?
ОтветитьHis partner chiming in in the background is very underrated part of this scene. Well done.
ОтветитьImagine the sequel - "Uncut Gems meets The Gambler". That would be terrific
ОтветитьSay that the average living expense is $300 a week: times that by 52 weeks in a year is $15,600. if you had $2.5 million, and your living expense is $1000 a week: times that by 52 is $52,000 and times that by 30 years is $1.560,000, meaning that you'll still have a little under a million.
Here in the UK, there was a women con artist called Michaela Maria, who in 2012 ran a housing scam and made £15 million before she got caught. going by John Goodman just said about being up by $2.5 million, £5 million would've enough to retire on, £15 million was too greedy, even £10 million was too greedy.
There was a scene in Casino 1995, where casino manager called Samuel "Ace" Rothstein, where he talking about catching casino scammers where if "they hadn't been too greedy, they would've been harder to catch, but in the end they all get greedy."
Epic!
I studied gambling on the uni and the most important thing I learned: don’t gamble, instead invest your money.
