the minimi is used by the british army and has a skeletol buttstock(para). the original m249 just has a full buttstock.

the recoil is low because the weight of the weapon absorb a shit ton of it. The M249 is a very heavy weapon.

this is a crazy fun weapon system, we use the l10a1 para lmg, 5.56, 900 rounds per minute. i have a week of firing that beast in two weeks time. CANNOT WAIT. swift & bold.

were soposed to get the shorty butstock in a couple weeks, were deployin at end of july. i love my saw, got the 145 on it really helps me reach out n touch somethin. but its such a sweet weapon, only shot an m4 once just fkn around at a range, an it just dosent feel right after havin the saw for over a year. 249 for life.

hmm talking about guns you use in the military but dont know the model?? thats a bit wierd.

i always thoguht the m16 was pretty comfortable. i used one once and it felt great

true, but on the m16, u didnt have to worry about recoil. you could hardly feel a thing!

haaaa the old style look like shit and feel like shit, they have a metal end of the buttstock compared to the rubber guard on the collapsable, plus its smaller which is wayyyy nicer

lol yes, whered u get to deal with a 249.... jw... i mean weapons maintanance doesnt have much to do w/ shooting a saw. for example im a Saw gunner 0311 in the Marine Corps so if YOU wanna know anything u better be askin ME nigga haha u feel me

@andrey91pireu It's either a barrel release handel or a carry handle. Everybody sais something different so I don't know either.

Thanks for the vid! I'm curious, what's the ammo capcity of the ammo can for the one you're firing, is it 200 rounds? And do the ammo cans still experience issues like jamming and coming loose, or has that been largely fixed now? I've also heard that some SAW gunners are using other, smaller 100 or 150 round containers that use plastic or canvas, is that true?

@burt2800 Its both. The handle is attatched to the barrel so when you change barrels you dont burn your hand. The spare barrel also has a handle on it. The handle can be used to carry the weapon at any time

@Zerothomas In 1993 I did an exchange with the Marines and they were not really allowed to use the carry handle on their M16s for the same reason that you mentioned but it was fine for them to use their slings. Funny thing was that we were allowed to use the carry handle but we were not allowed to fit a sling to our rifles because it was considered lazy by our boss. Go figure lol
