IMHO, this is great film. The actors, playing apes are superb. They are more realistic, than the ridiculous CGI apes, in the more recent versions of Planet of the Apes. I wish Tim Burton had made a sequel to this film.

I love this movie so much, my favorite ape character was Pericles because he was cute and an ancestor to the other apes of the planet. At first when I watched the movie I was thinking what happened to Pericles after when his pod was knocked by the storm while Leo Davidson was in the planet. I thought about if Pericles died but he was alive when he stopped the war. I was sad that when his friend Leo landed on earth he was arrested by apes after General Thade took over earth. I didn’t get why Pericles didn’t go with Leo to earth, it would make sense that if they made it to earth they would’ve been taken after Thade wasn’t defeated.

No matter how many times I watch this movie, it gives me goosebumps🤯the power of religion and ignorance, this movie is a portrait of the beginning of human civilizations from a 3rd person perspective, all the misunderstandings and belief beyond reason
