When I started watching VCT during Kickoff for the first time this year I was trying to choose which team I would be my team. I watched most of the matches, and despite the mediocre results, I really enjoyed watching G2. I knew they had just ascended and I knew that JonahP was a legend from watching his gameplay.

My friends all chose teams like Sen and NRG and Lev, teams that looked posed to be successful this year. I was unwavering in my support despite the loses, despite dropping NeT (LFG m80) and picking up Icy. They clowned me for being a fool and believing. Now they have no choice but to respect G2.

Y’all proved the entire world wrong. Nobody expected the team without a “star player” would end up becoming a contender for best in the world. Thank you for proving the power of teamwork and discipline. Thank you for proving that double controller is GOATED. Thank you for being a joy to watch and support. It’s so rare that an entire team is as likeable and cohesive as y’all. Next year is the year of G2 because the team of discipline and consistency just gained a LOAD of experience.
