Good to see my bike fitter did most of this stuff to my bike (suggested flipping the stem. Didn't have to in the end, rotated the bars forward, brought the hoods up a fair amount, pushed my cleats back, rotated my saddle forward a lot) so I have gone to someone who knows what they're talking about.
ОтветитьVery practical based advice video from James, good close up shots on the how to sections. More toon bike fit Tuesday's in the future please gents ! 👍👏🙏have a great bank holiday weekend guys ! 🍻
ОтветитьCommenting partly for the algorithm, partly to as always, thank James.
I've been a bit naughty with adjusting my fit over the last 6 months or so. Narrowed my handle bars, but swapped to a longer stem. I did compensate by raising my bars 5mm.
May go back to the the shorter stem.
When I'm home, I'll check my lever position again.
Love this channel!
ОтветитьCan you do a bike fit video for flat bars?
ОтветитьJames' advice is excellent, especially on cleat positioning. In my case, with strong pronation, I used podiatrist recommended insoles but had to go a size up for Shimano shoes to make it work.
ОтветитьPity the integrated cockpit cancer restricts bike fit adjustment by orders of magnitude.
ОтветитьI spent £000’s of pounds on errors. That’s how I learned my optimal bike fit 👍
ОтветитьI do have indeed a question: I usually suffer under the numb testicle syndrome and experimented quite a lot with seating positions, saddles and cycling shorts. I also might have bit of an anterior pelvic tilt, don't know if this amplifies that problem. Is there anything specific I can try, or maybe some stretching to get my place on the saddle different? Thanks a lot! Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьFrancis ask James what's the best Lake shoe, is their one ?
Ответить2 knees, 4 knee surgeries. Ditching my speedplay zero lollipops for road spd, slamming the cleat all the way back… feels like 5x the engagement/power transfer with a very significant comfort improvement. WOW. Thank you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьWhat model saddle is that for tip 3? I've been trying to find a saddle without a kick at the tail, I am looking for entirely flat if possible.
ОтветитьWhen I experimented with turning my shifters in I found that if I did it more than a tiny bit it turned my hand so the part of my hand that was still on the bar (I have big hands I guess) was resting on the median nerve, causing hand numbness over time.
Ответить1975 called 😂👌🏻
ОтветитьThank you! I need to change the handle bar reach and width! Will try some of your tips.
ОтветитьI made several adjustments to my bike setup based on recommendations on this channel: I moved the cleats all the way back, lowered the saddle height by a few millimeters, obtained a shorter stem and narrower bars, and leveled the saddle tilt. As a result, I no longer experience pain in my palms, and it feels like I can generate more power and engage my glutes more effectively. Overall, it seems that I am more grounded on the bike and have better control using my legs and body rather than relying on my arms.
ОтветитьCan't believe James passed up the opportunity of the reach around joke
ОтветитьWhere exactly do you want your sit bones on the saddle?
Ответить⚔️💪😎👍🏴(stroke)
ОтветитьHey James, got a Q, why did I get a pressure point on my hand/palm, when I tried the ‘rotated in’ handle bar? Particularly, in between my thumb and index finger, the fat-ish muscle? I did ride with straight handlebars and it was OK to begin with, but I fixed something that’s not broken… hmm. Did I answer my own question? Haha.
Ответитьfast and to the point! Cheers mate!
ОтветитьAlways enjoy a good Bikefit James lesson 👍
ОтветитьJames regarding the g8 insoles. How will i know i have them set up right? Is there a test or guide for how to determine optimal placement of the support? Thanks in advance for any help.
ОтветитьThank you for bar rotation tip, successfully shortened reach by about 5 mm to perfect fit.
Ответитьpresenting very well ,thanks.
ОтветитьHi Francis and James, will there be a tips video on how one can do bike fit adjustments if you wrongfully bought a larger framed bike?
Ответитьi tend to walk on the outside edge of my foot, and have noticed that when i cycle i do the same, would the G8 2620 insoles be good for correcting this? thanks
ОтветитьAwesome tips as always
ОтветитьAwesome information! Thank you!
ОтветитьI would like to thank James a lot. I tried the cleats trick (take them down, full bottom) and it changed so much my comfort on the bike. I had saddles issues before doing this, now it's way better. I noticed I was using more my glutes muscles. A good thing :) Thank you again.
ОтветитьI tried moving the cleat back a few years past and found that it greatly reduced my sprint power and ability to maintain a high cadence. That said, sprints are my strength and I generally ride at a higher cadence than most. The far back cleat position just doesn't suit my riding style.
ОтветитьJames comes across brilliantly, If I lived closer to his shop I'd definitely book a fitting and or buy a bike from him. I'm a big lump with bowed shins, so like the extra touches of information given that helps us fatties.
ОтветитьHow to increase things like reach and stack when your bike is (allegedly) a bit too small?
ОтветитьNot a pity party just my autistic head going off on one, imagine that you haven't been on a bike since 2018, you have arthritis in your spine, l knee and right hip, and you have sleep apnea, and your 49, have I left it to late to decide to do either bike packing or cycle touring? Thanks from Chris in Chester Cheshire
ОтветитьForgot to say my bike is a viking touring master x
ОтветитьThank you so much!
ОтветитьWhat make/model is that handlebar please?
ОтветитьThanks for the helpful tips. I followed your advice pushing the cleats back which I thought worked well, however I had a bike fit a couple days ago and they moved them quite a bit forward (for "better power transfer"), now my left knee hurts. Should I try pushing through a bit longer or ignore their advice?
ОтветитьI love my inny shifters
ОтветитьVery knowledgeable expert. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьI had done the cleat thing on my MTB because it felt more natural as I was used to ride flats, I just did it on my road bike and I've noticed it's way more easy to clip in and it feels pretty good
ОтветитьYou guys are amazing. I have nothing else to say. Thank you.
ОтветитьSir. James is back 👍👍👍
ОтветитьWhy am i more comfortable to ride in the drops instead on the hoods? Is it only due to shorter reach?
ОтветитьI ride like its a bmx bike. Idc! No shorts no helmet. I love my road bike. I crash i almost get hit by cars but i love this too. Imagine that lol is this taboo? Oh well i just love riding. I always feel strange when i see a rider. It seems like so much. Plus my ass probably looks really bad and boney. I feel like i never fit into clicks or trends.
ОтветитьVery good info....thanks Gents
ОтветитьLike always, very practical and free advices from CADE media that are extremely important for comfort on a bike. You guys are the only bicycle channel that I subscribed because unfortunately in cycling there is so much snobbery these days. Everybody recommending only the stuff that they are sponsored from and the stuff that normal mortals can't buy. You guys are the only only one worth watching and following. Please stay like that and don't change!
ОтветитьHow much for the cinelli lol ?
