Immediately watched the second video after the first - I don’t say it enough but your editing is bloody superb, bud. Great video!
ОтветитьSo... Contract JACK next?
ОтветитьAnother nice review. It was delicious, just like Kate.
ОтветитьComparison is the lowest form of analysis? Say it ain't so
ОтветитьI played both games and the 3rd one we don't speak about, back to back and 2 was really lan amazingly well made 60s movie loveletter with better and more witty and very clever writing, jokes, voice acting and lip sync than I had ever seen, and better than almost everything that followed for at least 10 years. And even all the at first glance stereotype one dimensional characters turned out to be not one dimensional, with subtle (or not) character developments in the end, it was really so much ahead of its time, with the continued universe from the 1st game and including the adaptive music and all, being so immersive and catchy too. For me, these games were the Half-life's of their generation.
ОтветитьExcellent. I loved this back in the day. Wish there were more games that took these sorts of risks with setting and style. :D
ОтветитьI REALLY wish we could explore the Unity HQ as a sort of hub world between the missions. Mainly because:
1. They could've incorporated optional conversations in first person in there, similar to the conversation with Santa's bird at the start of Mission 1. Since the higher production values the cutscenes received prevented the devs from having the same amount of cutscenes as the 1st game, this could've been used to incorporate more character interactions. And just... let Kate & the others talk more. In general, the plot of NOLF2 felt a little half-baked due to how limited the character interactions were compared to NOLF1.
2. The mime assault would've been more of a surprise. Had you been allowed to explore Unity HQ freely three times before this point (after Japan, after Siberia, after Ohio), you wouldn't expect this "safe zone" to suddenly turn into a combat arena.
