Doesn't it work well =D Love listening to the 6581 and 8580 at the same time! It's brilliant! Good job - well done spotting the chip round the wrong way, and bad luck with the pin breaking off the adapter but you easily fixed it! Great video - hopefully this will help others discover the wonder of psuedo stereo on the C64 =D Thanks for the shout out btw =D

This has also highlighted that on my original board (modified SID2SID board) I probably need to amplify the 6581 signal to the same level the 8580 is done on the SID2SID. There's almost definitely a volume mismatch there having taken the 6581 audio from the C64 board, with the 8580 going to the 2N2222. Daves board doesn't suffer that problem, except when using a Nano Swin SID, but even that is dependent on the maker of the Nano - one of my nanos outputs the same level as an actual 8580, the other is about 60 to 70% of the physical 8580.

I wonder if I should look at a T shaped board for the C64C with both SIDs rotated 90 degrees so they sit between the modulator and the edge of the keyboard. May give a bit more height for heatsinks?

Hey, do you have any more recorded material with these? It is awesome to listen to! :)

Super jealous of the dual Sid. Listened to your music portion of the video with good stereo headphones and ... wow. However the install portion of the video was about 3x longer than required. Thank you for posting this video.

It isn't even Pseudo Stereo anyway because it is Stereo with a central Mono channel from the beginning but the old output methods of RF muxed the Stereo with Mono central to full Mono.

With Dual SID you got 2 mono centrals together making 1 stereo central as well as your 4 Stereo channels.

SID has always been Stereo but having 2 of them installs widens the panning as well as makes it 2 central monos instead of one making the centrals stereo output too and with the combined composite mod it has done to it the composite alone is outputting the real stereo with mono central sound of both chips over the air.

3 channels is Stereo with a Central Mono anything over 2 channels is a Sterero chip from the start not Pseudo Stereo.

Pseudo Surround sound this is maybe but SID is already Stereo just you only had an RF output for the Stereo with Mono Central before any modding so you only hear Mono on the TV on a single one before the mod which gives you both Composite video and audio and actual stereo outputs of 2 sids together.

3 channels is not Mono it's Stereo with a Mono backing track but then I'm a snob at pointing that out.
