Looking at it in lore, modern MKX Primaris Space Marine Power Armour is comparable to its original early ‘Dark Age of Technology’ counterpart. There are a lot of inconsistencies with the armour, with different authors putting in their own ideas, from it being able to withstand tactical nukes to it being pieced by simple lasfire, so let's look at it in lore. The original STC power armour was designed and based on low-grade ceramite mining equipment (low-quality equipment) but was designed for deep crust mining. The cermatie it uses is an advanced form of plastic originating just before the beginning of the ‘Dark Age of Technology’, a heat- and shock-resistant material designed to survive the heat and cave-ins of deep cave mining. Ceramite is capable of absorbing and dissipating even the most extreme thermal and directed-energy attacks and conducts many other forms of electromagnetic radiation to disperse it across a wide area. It is perfect for mining unknown materials and their properties. It’s also stated that the original armour could survive small volcanic eruptions and cave-ins, supporting someone under billions of tons of weight. So, if the new modern MK2 Primaris Space Marine Power Armour is comparable to this, it could be that this armour could withstand early atomic bomb explosions (around 20 kilotons of TNT) and be able to withstand billions of tons of weight dropped on it without breaking. It makes you wonder what military equipment was like during the ‘Dark Age’.

In that warhammer movement shooter game (forgot the name of it, kinda like a doom clone, 2d 32bit and everything) one of the key game mechanics is literally dashing through your enemies, (another great thing about that game is that the cultists scream everytime they see you, appropriate) my only gripe with that game is that you didn't feel tanky enough to be a space marine yk?

I love how a lot of the lore doesn't translate into the game very well, or at least it does, but not in like un Orthodox tactics.

A Space Marine's armor is strong enough to deflect, bounce, or absorb anything up to a 55mm cannon. You'd need at least 75mm AP shell with any hope of punching through.
