My first fursona was a goddess of disease and I pretended to be her online, saying I was responsible for all the major plagues of history and that I'd use pathogens to smite anyone I hated. I was 14. Take it from me: sometimes furries are just like that.

One thing I think a lot of people gloss over is that fursonas often tend to have gimmicks!

Some are magic, some are game characters, some are just weird.

This never seemed much different to me. I know people who's 'sonas were gods or demons of the varying seven sins, it's typically just played for the funny and as a means of expressing things you find fascinating.

I think the person criticizing the furry god for "thinking small" was actually trying to say that his idea of influencing history and playing with reality is really banal and shallow despite selling himself as a deep thinker and experimenter who's prone to boredom. It would have been more interesting and in line with his creator's rationale if he followed the thread of history down unique and unexpected divergences and influenced those rather than just taking credit for all of human history, which doesn't really say anything profound or explore the themes of unpredictability and causality that he wants to explore. It didn't sound like he was nitpicking about the way the historical events themselves were being represented.
