ОтветитьWhen we say we are Catholic it literally means universal. We are a part of the universal Church, we are universal church, we believe in utterly defined and proved dogmas, Catholics were the first Christians, John the Apostle's disciple St. Ignatius of Antioch was the first to call us Catholic. Look at the history of the Catholic Church and what the Catholic Church says and see if any of it goes against what scripture is saying, not your interpretation of it but what the universal Catholic beliefs and traditions are. Examine them, if there is any truth, embrace it, for without the truth one is chained to their iniquities but seek Jesus Christ who is Truth Incarnate, with Him there is no falsehood, He is the only way the truth and the life, without Him, His sacrifice, there is no salvation. His Church is the Catholic Church not because we are something different than Christians, but because we have the entire truth. St. Paul sends letters to all the churches and he says if anyone comes to you saying something contrary to what has been handed on to you, you know like don't believe but hold fast to the traditions that have been handed on to you. These are the same traditions, some dogmas that have been utterly defined by the Catholic Church. If you believe that Christ's Church, the Catholic Church strayed from His Truth, then you are forgetting His promise to Peter, "You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the Gates Of The Netherworld Shall Not Prevail Against It." Are all Catholics perfect, do they all set a perfect example? No. But His Truths are perfect and they are true whether you believe them or not. It is not the dogmas and traditions of the Catholic Church that are wrong, it is some leaders choosing to use their free will not to glorify God but to glorify themselves. But some do and we follow their example of Christian virtue, these are His saints. We worship God alone, Father, Son and Holy Ghost and His saints, those who have attained to eternal life, we ask them to pray for us so that we may become more like Jesus Christ who is our King, our Savior, our God. We love Him and adore Him who becomes truly present on the altar. "This is my body, do this in rememberance of me" for the Jews they celebrated the passover which was a foreshadowing of Christ's sacrifice, the lamb was a foreshadowing of Christ offering His life for His flock and daily His same sacrifice, one sacrifice, only one is made present on the altar, he said to do it and Catholics have been doing it since the first supper, the Last Supper. "This is my body" he didn't say this is a symbol of my body, He said it His body and he said to celebrate that supper in remembrance of Him, of His sacrifice, His love for all of us, "Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you do not have life within you, I am the bread of life" He said these words and many left Him, they understood it the same way we do, that He literally meant that they were to eat of Him and drink of Him. Think about it, can He make Himself the substance of bread? Absolutely, nothing is impossible with God, did He make Himself present in the appearance of bread and wine, does He? "This is a hard saying" were the words of His Apostles and even though they didn't entirely understand it, how He could want to do such a thing, they chose to stay with Him because they knew without Him they were nothing and they came to believe. He can do this and He wants us to recieve Him daily "give us this daily bread" it's literally in the prayer He taught us to pray. And you may say well these are just your interpretations of the text and I say to you "this is a universal belief of the Catholic Church, we are united in one faith, "we are of the same mind" as Saint Paul says. "Hold fast to the traditions which have been handed on to you" if they were getting the Eucharist wrong, these first Christians, those Catholics, no one was telling them, no one was correcting them. God is Truth, He is the bread of life. You long for something more than just the spiritual, you long for the material too because in both you are satisfied because that is your very essence body and soul. And He is not satiated either unless you except that He wants to come to you and live within you. "Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you do not have life within you." He is calling you. I am only His messenger, am I a prophet, am I anyone famous? No, but I am a Child of God, a Child of the Truth, not because I bring a version of the Truth but the actual Truth. If there is any falsity in my words, please tell me, but first test what you believe to see if you are standing on solid ground, standing on the Truth. And examine history, for in history, you find the Truth because God is the Truth and He was just as much a part of our history as He is a part of our present as He is a part of our future. May His face shine upon you, may His kindness overwhelm you and may you come to knowledge of the Truth. Peace be with all of you!
