I don't think I've bought a single Teenage Engineering product that hasn't broken in some way within a year of regular use. Not really sure if I'm unlucky or if that's just the standard now but it's not exactly encouraging me to use their units

They're not the most robust or nuanced tools, but pocket operators are so much fun to mess around on. I find them incredibly easy to use and I have little to no experience with musical gear. Once you get the hang of them you can just jump right into a fun little jam session. They are built like toys though, and most certainly will not last forever even if you take good care of them. They're no substitute for more "serious" hardware, but they're pretty damn entertaining, especially for a beginner.

The Deepmind sounds horrible and you should make a video with one... 🤥

I think the PO 33 is the best TE device. Everything else is meh

I hate TE and all their crap it’s all the bad parts of Elektron and none of the good. Hardware fetish is low IQ

I never really understand who buys these things. The Roland Aria range are about twice the price and infinitely more useful.

I love the PO-33. It's just so much fun to use. It's very limited but it also means that it's really easy to learn. It forces you to think of creative solutions to its limitations, but it becomes more like a puzzle game than a source of frustration. I also really like the crunchy sound, it's just so good, such character. It's just too bad that it's basically unusable live. I wish that the KO-II were a more-featured PO-33 instead of a less-featured SP-404.

They wasted the screen which is a shame.

Hey @florian do an ep on the woovebox. He smashed all those POs into one box and just for fun made it even smaller. Rumour has it he challenged TE to a disco dance off and schooled them in how dangerous hips can be. Woove all the way!

teenage engineering has to be a long form "gotcha" style joke where they come out one day and admit this was all an exercise in seeing how much they could get for gimmicky toy's and it just kept working so they just went with it.
