The only way that Germany survives WW2 is if the US does not enter the war. Thats basically it -- Dunkirk is irrelevant. Even with a neutral USSR, the US could have single handedly beaten Japan and Germany. Even in a crazy scenario where they had allied with the USSR, it becomes far more difficult for the US, but the US still likely wins. People grossly, grossly underestimate the might of US production in WW2, and the fact that no other country would ever be able to invade US soil. Its GDP/production capacity is essentially equal to the rest of the world combined -- not just Axis, the world. The US produced more airplanes for example in a single year than Japan did in the entirety of the war, and nearly more than Germany or the USSR did for the entire war. More than half all of the worlds naval vessels are US, not to mention trucks, tanks, etc., and perhaps most importantly, the vast majority of the world's aircraft carriers. The US had ~120 carriers, depending on what you classify as a carrier exactly, Japan had ~25. Germany and the USSR had 0. The US would crush the Japanese Navy, then blockade European/USSR ports. Germany, at its peak, had nearly 75% of its GDP going to the war, the USSR peaked at about 60%. The US tops out at about 40%, it never really had to dig deep -- if the US had really wanted to go to the mattresses for ww2, there was still a lot more it could have done -- and it was already outproducing the rest of the world combined. Once you get to 1945 and atomic weapons, the game is over. The only place Germany would have an advantage over the US is on land, simply due to sheer manpower and the US would be attacking, but they would be utterly crushed at sea or in the air, and once atomic weapons enter the picture, the army is toast. Dunkirk, even if the UK somehow sued for peace, is meaningless in the long run. The only thing that changes the outcome for the Axis is maybe not invading the USSR and the US entering the war, but especially the US entering the war. Once the US gets involved, its game over.

I do wonder if the USSR would be more prepared for the invasion in this scenario. Since they (Stalin) didn't think germany would invade while still at war with the UK

1. Germany didn't want to fight the UK. Hitler dreamed of an alliance with the UK. If they got as far as a treaty, Germany was never going to attack them. Russia falling is the end of the war as that's as far as Germany was going to go. And it wasn't a conquest for land; Hitler simply wanted to destroy their communist state.

2. If Germany was still strong in 1945, a couple of Nuclear bombs aren't doing much. For starters, you're probably not getting a bomber to fly deep into enemy territory and drop those bombs on major cities with them having air defenses. And even if successful, it's only 2 bombs. Nukes are not automatic game overs. They pack a powerful punch, but so do 1000s bombs. And we did plenty of 1000s of bomb raids which caused far more damage than the nukes did on Japan. Germany didn't give up to those fire bombings when they were already screwed, so why would they bow down in the case of a Nuke when they are strong?

How about moustache man focuses on the main players?. Doesn't take out Denmark, Norway or Holland in the run up to the big push. Begins the French campaign a month earlier. The hitherto unused airborne forces are now dropped into Dunkirk to secure it prior to the arrival of the armoured formation and before the allied troops fell back into it.

These days hardly anybody mentions how unprepared Germany was for the brutal Russian winter. Hitler thought the Soviets would surrender by the Autum of 1941 so when winter came that year German soldiers didn't have winter uniforms and a lot of them literally froze to death. By 1942 they got winter uniforms by the cold was still rough and thier weapons and equipment.

i reckon if you had a time machine and 10 tries to stop WWI and WWII happening you would be shocked who you would need to take out to stop them happening. My money is on Ignaz Semmelweis, or the whole system needed to die much sooner.. Had Germany not tried to achieve a scientific standard of self improvement, the church would have let them do their thing.. but they need their Putins and Shitlers, the big bad wolf isnt the one with their hands in your pockets making us all pay for their war machine disguised as a country of free people.. This Disney vs Kellogs shit isnt democratic, one side wants you to look pretty for a cost and the other thinks you jack off far too much for your own good..
In their world the messenger is more important than the message, the repressed old minds cant handle a direction change that means blue hair and tattoos shouldnt make you unemployable or an instant bad investment. They love their prejudices so much, they would die to protect their right to be a cunt.. no matter how many innocent words get banned after being used as weapons, they will keep banning the words.....

So, from what's been presented of this alternate timeline, I'd imagine the Pacific Theater goes much the same as our timeline, maybe slightly heavier losses from the US without support from England. So, with that being said, the US probably just holds operation starvation and starves Japan into surrender, but instead of it ending with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it ends with Germany having Berlin and Hamburg decimated, now, my question is, what would have been the third target in Germany still hadn't surrendered cause a lot of people don't know that the Manhattan Project had three bombs. Maybe Munich? That was the capital of the bad mustache man movement, maybe a city in the Ruhr area of Germany, with the Ruhr area being a major industrial center of Germany.

Personally I don't think Germany would try to take out Britain militarily. What's the point really? Germany dominates the European continent and has all the resources of Russia now and Britain has no chance in another war. Germanys position is secure. So I think a more covert method of getting a German aligned party in power is done potentially seeing Britain brought into Germanys sphere if successful. The failure in WW2 would also likely see British colonies like India revolt and gain independence making Britain even weaker

So japan doesn't go on a vast maritime expansion... No pearl Harbour , but they do take over/usurp the Dutch east indies , giving them oil resources
No pearl Harbour means america doesnt enter the war .. doesnt go to a war economy, doesnt build the liberty ships , doesn't enter north africa , no italian campaign , possibly no greece or Yugoslavia campaigns .
And with the USSR watching japan to the east and not getting the huge quantities of American supplies
Soviets fold , at least back to the urals
,but soviet union without russia is nothing , no food , no industry and no population base ..

How the hell could the Americans have dropped nuclear bombs on Berlin and Hamburg in this scenario? Germany controls the whole of Europe, the technology is probably at the same level as in our timeline, so Germany has the Me-262, although the Junkers Jumo 004 engines were not the best, but still, how could the USA have managed that? Especially with radar, which Germany could now set up, the USA would not even have had a base in England, ergo they would have had to launch a B-29 Super Fortress bomber from the USA, bring it across the Atlantic and pray to God that they would not be eaten by any Me-262s over Europe, especially without a fighter escort. In addition, the B-29 was equipped with 50 caliber guns and the Me-262 with 4 MK-108 machine guns which had a longer range and could have destroyed a bomber without much trouble. See Black Thursday on April 12, 1951 where Mig-15 jet fighters shot several B-29s out of the sky.

How do the Americans get a plane past hundreds of miles of defended air space to nuke Berlin? They can't take off from Britain and no matter which way they're flying from, they have to cover large swathes of countryside occupied by the Nazis.

The idea that nukes could only be used 2x, in the short run, is just wrong. The USA was producing at least one bomb per month by Aug 1945 and being able to go both the plutonium and uranium routes would have led to 2-3 bombs a month within a short time.

what I really hate is we can't use a name, for monetary reasons. If anyone forgets who Hitler was, what he was able to do it can easily happen again. History should never be taken lightly or made "easy" to swallow. Shit happened and we can only make sure it will not happen again.
