ОтветитьWhen the money changed to decimal in 1971, a portions of chips was then 3p. They were probably sixpence in old money (2.5p) but everything seemed to nibble up in price a little bit when the decimal system arrived. Chips soon went to 4p and then everyone said that the day they rose to 5p (a shilling in old money) would be the day they stopped going to the chippy for good. Lol.
A fish was probably about 10p back then - early 1970's.
