THANK YOU for talking about Fall Out Boy being hardcore! Not to freak out about them, but i wanna go further into that as i find it interesting.

Andy Hurley, Pete Wentz, and Joe Trohman were all in the hardcore scene in the 90s. The start of Fall Out Boy, in 2002, they wanted to make something less hardcore that they called "Chicago Softcore" (seen on old merch). They were all vegan, Pete had locs, Patrick had a buzzcut, Joe was jumping around at 15 in shows and Andy was playing drums for hardcore bands.

Listen to Evening Out With Your Girlfriend EP (early 2003) it's terrible but it really encapsulates the sound of their hardcore roots and the new emo genre forming in the sound of pop-punk/pop-rock. They also had a split EP (2002) with Project Rocket, a band Andy drummed for.

Scene was scene, emo never dies.. trust us, we've tried it..😂

I was all about the drive thru bands. They had some great bands like Finch, nag, rx bandits, starting line and more. I miss label samplers and dad's. We found so many bands that way.

it breaks me thinking about the hype those three brought to the emo scene through new sound while being one of us. i hated on peep at first not gonna lie, but today he is one of my favorite artists and it really hurts that we lost him so soon the world would be different if we still had him

Emo is dead because there are so many different ideas of what it is. You made no mention of Good Charlotte or Simple Plan, both still touring, and only mention The Used once. You mention Fall Out Boy constantly, there is one list where you name them twice. I would not consider Fall Out Boy emo I liked their old stuff never kept up with them but when they came out a lot of the preppy kids in my high school that were always making fun of emo liked their music and wore their shirts. Paramore is a band that you and some others will call emo but there is a large group that would say they are not and never wear and that group is split between Paramore being pop or punk. My Chemical Romance changed their sound with Welcome to the Black Parade to try and shed the emo title, again a lot of the preppy kids in high school started liking them with that song and came to me saying hey I think you'd like this band, and I responded with I liked them years ago back when you talked trash about them.
