It's not a double jump though, it's a jump-with-boost, cuz you use shift, not jump in the air, what you could do to make it an actual double jump using an elytra, then when it is deployed, remove the elytra and give a high levitation effect for 1 sec, and then add the elytra back! Try it!

Hmmm if i was you for the effect of levitation to double jump you can put with power of 50 and next you clear the effect to go more quickly in the air , 1-2 tick effect levitation 50 1 , 3 tick you clear it

I always wondered how to do this! I tried doing it but I always did the execute command for air and teleports you up but then it would do that infinitely so you'd just keep on flying!
