Enjoyed this video..thanks for sharing how you started your business. It's something I'm wanting to do but wasnt sure of some of the things I needed to do. Currently doing my food hygiene level 2 and have been trying out plenty recipes. Got my business name and the kind of baking I want to do. I've already started do some of the things you've mentioned e.g practicing with recipes before selling to customers to make sure they are up to standard and also knowing my hourly rate, I'm hoping to start my business fully this year.

Hi, thank you for your time. I wanted to know if I register how would I know I will get customers. If I don’t then how would I able to pay for the liability insurance and websites etc... I’ve done cakes for family and friends and they love it. They order more but I’m not sure if I will get customers in my area. I don’t really know where or how to start.

Hi Amy, This video was so helpful! I will deffo be using your tips. I’ve always dreamt of having my own baking business and going full time with it. I started making brownies during lockdown last year but when I returned to my day job, it sort of fizzled out as I put it to one side. I would love to be in the position to give up my day job and go full time self employed. The 2 things holding me back are:
~ Making a steady enough income to live on
~ Competing with others, as my area seems populated with cake businesses since lockdown and one in particular has taken off massively. I worry how I could ever gain enough custom and I’m struggling to find a gap in the market when I have baking giants to compete with locally.
Any advice on this would be really appreciated! Thank you x

Lets say someone places an order via your Instagram/ Facebook page, do you need to invoice them? Using normal bank transfers?

i’m going though all of your too videos and jotting down loads of notes in my notebook! thank you for everything you are amazing. so my business was the most unexpected blessing in disguise. i did not at all expect to be doing this! i always said i would never sell my cakes and instead was aiming to start up an art business. i’m 17 and i suffer severely with mental illness and autism which mean i haven’t been able to leave the house for 2-3 years and i’ve been out of school for 3 years. i’ve failed all my subjects when i used to be an A* student. but last week for the first time in years i actually passed something 🥺 it’s a small thing but i passed all my food courses with flying colours! everyone has raved about my cakes and asked me if i was selling them as i could make a living, and i finally took the plunge and i’m so excited. i just love keeping busy and making people happy especially because i’m stuck at home all the time and haven’t been able to live the happy free teenage life i’ve always wanted. i live in Norfolk so i will be selling cakes and treats as well as some traditional Norfolk cakes which i’ve barely seen anyone do! i just want want to say thank you xxx

I've loved baking ever since I was young, some of my first memories are baking cookies from a box with my mum and aunty (they were horrible cookies but i had so much fun making them). I've been looking to get into baking as a career for a long time and I've been encouraged by my mum the entire way. My mum passed away in January this year and ive come to realise that life is too short to wait for an opportunity, ive got to make the opportunity for myself. So, with the memories and pride of my mum infusing every step I take I will try my hardest to succeed.. Yellow Roses were mums favourite flower and i want my mum to be involved in my future. She would be so proud to see me doing this, setting out to achieve my dreams and be happy. How do you disinfect your baking equipment/utensils, and what products do you use that is safe to use…thanks x

Hi Amy, when you save your receipts for your business do you have to have separate receipts for your baking stock? Say like if I’m going to the supermarket for a food shop and I need baking stuff aswell as my weekly shop can they be all on one receipt? X
