【MMD Analyse】 Comparaison and reasons to use other models than TDA.

I got a few more mmd model favorites, I don't think narrowing it down is easy...
personally I'd avoid using appearance. I favor love death, mamama & sakurai IA.
Tda is hot, Api is cute & Lat is fun. Anamasa is still the classic stand up diva. XD
I hated it back when Api was Lewded a lot before her adult variant by yami sweet.
love death is obviously more intelligent character variant while other models idk..
I liked IA's beta model for her cat like hair. it always reminded me of a sottishfold.

I actually don't like very much the TDA, if I use it, I prefer to search edited faces or something because it's tiring to see the same face and body over again... My self model actually uses a TDA face edit and I edited the textures so it looks more unique. But I usually prefer YYB models, they look really good.

I love TDAs details, but being used so much has really made her lose her charm.
I love a lot of other miku models, but I particularly like Ginjishi and Kuroyu.

TDA is pretty. Plain and simple. A shit ton of models just aren't nice to look at to me.
In all the years I've had MMD/PMD be a side hobby, when I've gone to look through models I just ALWAYS come back to TDAs, even after looking through hundreds.
Just because you put time and effort into something doesn't mean everyone is going to like it.

If you don't like the TDAs, just don't use them.
Don't shit on other people for just using something they like. Doesn't matter that they're popular either. Really wish this mentality of something popular means it's bad would die already, I'm only 26 and with the amount of times I've heard this nonsense I could be as rich as Bezos or Musk if I was given a penny every time.

Just use what you want.
Unless someone is using something in a problematic way, leave them alone.

I used to hate LAT models, bc of its overuse on the community, but now TDA has taken its place. Not that they are bad or anything, its just pure overuse of these proportions and style. We have lots of models that are extremelly well done, and are not TDA, like the MUBUU models

TDA is literally the only models I use. It’s very polished and has a unique vibe to it. TDA Luka especially because I feel there are different types of models and TDA is the main I use the most. Very rarely do I use other models than TDA.

In my opinion, I'm a TDA user and I love modify TDA face Morph and style for making a new one and see my tda style loved. I love tda style too and more when the modification are original

When the tda just came out, I liked it too, but later it became more and more and more ..
And besides, I noticed that I don't like the model itself (although maybe because of the hype): the way the eyes are made or the shape of the body / clothes, the shape of the hair. Also, the shape of the eyes (this is not the same as the previous note about them), although many probably just like it because of this, because it looks like anime
Although I cannot deny that some of the edits of this base are masterpieces..

I think that is because you can edit, take parts, edit them (TDA) do new models or your own OC and everything.
But others models like Appearence and sour have some rules and it's difficult use them without broke one xD

For example Sour: You can't put any part from other model (like TDA hair) you can only use sour parts in sour models😌

That's because everyone use TDA to make Mikus with a lot of hairstyles o costumes, another character or their own OC qwq

Well we all are kimda forced to make TDA models since there aren't much other download parts(face hair) and mixing is against the rules .-. I make characters with very complex hair and for some reason there are only TDA versions of it. I wish I could edit faces and hair

I really really really love animasa models. I think animasa models looks amazing and not too overused. Unlike the TDA models. Almost everyone from the mmd community uses them

TDA is ugly as hell. LAT is the best.

I'm 5 years too late to weigh in on this topic, but I gotta speak anyway. I use VRoid Studio conversions through the VRoid2PMX editor. Mainly due to the restrictions to a lot of the model bases by the original creators. The only thing I dislike about the VRoid conversions are the clipping issues with most expressions due to most motions being made for TDA models. Sometimes it's issues with the eyebrows and lashes while other times it's the teeth clipping through the sides of the mouth due to the nature of VRoid models (i.e. the teeth stretching along with the mouth). However, that's just my opinion.

That's why i download models from Japanese Websites such as Bowlroll, Niconi Solid, VPVP wiki because i much prefer a diversity of styles than one style which is overused, i don't hate TDA however i wouldn't use it everytime and only a few tda models look pleasing while the rest has the ugly same face syndrome. for example if i'm going to use a tda character then i will only pick one character of that style, example would be VK's TDA Neru Model while the other character would be a different style of model.

I like using tda models before however they consume memory space and found out that other styles of models look way more pleasing in the eyes. in my Hot take: "TDA edits are pretty ugly due to same face syndrome" no i much prefer original models than edited ones.

At first, I was more attracted to the yyb model. It was so beautiful, and it fit the image of how I saw miku just right in my head. I had only used yyb for a while, the physics were also a pro compared to tda. After a while though, I started to branch out more and use models like Muubu, Sour, Api, etc but still had not touched tda. Only recently have I started to really appreciate tda's style, I think a part of me was averse to it because of how popular it was and because I wanted to be different lol But I think each model is beautiful in their own way, no matter how simplistic or unconventional they may look.

Me personally, I don’t like TDA models, I get its selling points and strengths, but it doesn’t have the things I want, (good physics, and more on model looking), which is why I prefer the YYB models over the TDA models, despite the fact you could argue that the TDA models are objectively better.
