Which is Better? 2D or 3D VTuber Models?

What limitations do each have? For example, I may want a 3D model but will I be restricted on the type of animations/toggles/etc compared to 2D models?

before i changed my 1080 to 4070 ti, 5950x is like 50% cpu usage on vtube studio :O i was like wtf. then 4070 ti has this face tracking rtx thing, that did make my cpu usage down to 15%
