@Monstrumtactical I felt the review was fair, considering the price difference between optics. I would consider purchasing the Monstrum at it's price point.
ОтветитьGood job bud
Ответитьi gotta say i'm surprised to see the monstrum be not as clear as the banshee with the ED glass you reviewed a while back. that one was identical if not as close as possible to the razor you compared it to as far as sight picture. thought this would be the same. hope monstrum can iron out those kinks.
ОтветитьThink Monstrum is still like 3 steps behind Discovery, sadly. They need to step up their game, as you said, "it is not 2020 anymore" 😒
Thanks for the comparison 👍
Very useful video and comparing Monstrum $200 to $600-700 Strike Eagle is quite valuable, specifically to show which niches each scope fits better.
ОтветитьGreat honest review 👏
ОтветитьSince my budget doesn't allow for the high end optics, I am more than happy with the Monstrum scopes I have purchased. I was sold on Monstrum after picking up their Hornet scope, I recently purchased the Challenger, but have yet to mount it on a rifle
Ответитьgood stuff, moon! hope to see this channel get some more love from the stinky algo! @Monstrumtactical shouldn't be too mad, they know what they made and honestly to me it shows if they put a little better glass in there those things will melt off the shelfs at $250-300.
ОтветитьI bought a 200 dollar scope that had a set parallax, and the turrets were so mushy they practically were unusable, so kudos to Monstrum for putting all of those features out there for 200 dollars .
ОтветитьGood video and review. The Strike Eagle was some what clearer than the Monstrum. Even though they were very close . Money 💰 Just depends on the individual. . Thanks for the video 👍🇺🇸
ОтветитьYou got to give it to @monstrumtactical for making a 5-25x scope that is actually usable at that price point. If I still had my younger eyes I would go with the challenger but all the years of abuse I put them through has caught up with me. Another great review Moondog!
ОтветитьNice video. It's awesome there are people like you that can provide information like this for us too oogle over. Thanx
ОтветитьGreat review! I am ok with Vortex but it’s not my preferred optic have a few of them including the strike Eagle, unfortunately I haven’t had a good experience with Monstrum products. Thanks for the video.👍🏽👍🏽
ОтветитьFor the price the Challenger is phenomenal honestly, the discrepancies were not a clear cut as youd expect
ОтветитьMonstrum come a long way I buy Arken and Monstrum scopes now .....
ОтветитьI was terrified when i bought the Monstrum Hornet 6-24. It was only $179.00!
Still, to this day, im glad i did!
I think the difference is going to be the center dot vs the cross-hairs reticle.
I think the Monstrum Hornet reticle is better than the Challenger!
USAF target's a relatively good objective measurement. Also - when the Monstrum was clear in the center, and the Strike Eagle was clear in the center, there was a definite difference at the edge. The Vortex had a lot sharper image - only about the center 1/3 to me was sharp on the Monstrum. I have several scope brands myself including a Vortex Venom, Arken, and yes a Monstrum. The Monstrum I have is very good for its price point, and unlike this example shows good sharpness for about the inner 2/3rds of the image circle. I'd like to have more objective evidence (no pun) but my impression is the more established marks have less variation from one unit to another. Whereas with some of the 'up and coming' brands I own, there are even cases where a more expensive model shows less optical quality.
Ответитьactually strike eagle is already the entry line which is very very mediocre in terms of optical quality.
ОтветитьI totally enjoyed the video. I like head heads with competitors that way you can see what you’re truly buying and comparing things that you may buy I think. Monstrum should encourage you to do this more often. And I would say we think alike I would take the money I save and use somewhere else. I didn’t think there was that big of a difference between the two scopes.
ОтветитьDo this with the Discovery vs Arken or Swampfox Warhawk please..
Great video. 👍
Athlon is sending me the new MIDAS Tac HD 5-30 soon can't wait to try it out.
Great review moondog! I recently purchased the Hornet 4-16 and I was wondering how the challengers were going to hold up against them. Both the hornet and the challengers are new and the new Christmas tree reticle are a step in the right direction. @monstrumtactical please add MIL turrets!
ОтветитьThe Challenger is awesome 👌 the turrets are on another level now, and that ED glass is nice.
ОтветитьHi. Another excellent video. Your style of speaking is first rate.
Last year, I bought a new Strike Eagle 5-25X56 for around $700. At the same time, I also purchased a CV Life BearSwift 5-25X56 optic for $190. Curious.
So, the day to sight them both in, arrived and I was shocked that I actually preferred the CV overall (especially for the $). I came home and bought another. I now have 4. They will be used to upgrade the glass on my older varmint rifles.
I don't own a Monstrum scope, but I have purchased some of their rings just to check them out, they were fine.
I currently have a bunch of Arken EP5s, both Gen l (4) and Gen ll (1). I am also a very happy owner of the Discovery ED PRS 5-25X56 (Gen l (1) and Gen ll (3) and I actually prefer them over the Gen l Arkens. Yeah, the PRS scopes are big, but suit my shooting needs 100%.
The reason for this rant is, today I noticed the release of the new CV Life 5-25X56 EagleBlaze.
(who makes up these names?)
The old CV makes NO mention of ED glass, the new one does.
However, the "EagleBlaze", is no bargain, it is priced only $50 less than my new DNTs.
Can't wait to see it get reviewed, but they are going to have to cut the $$. A lot.
In all my years of shooting scoped rifles, the last couple of years has seen a dramatic (!!) increase in the number and quality of Chinese glass/hardware. They all appear to come from the same OEM......
But you have to look at it from a budget point of view. Is it worth that extra money for what little bit better that it was?????
You definitely done a very thorough and common sense explanations of the comparison
I bought the DiscoveryOpt 1-8 FFP EDAR LPVO for less than $200 based on the review of this channel, it's probably the best scope I ever bought for the price, the glass is insane quality for the price, more like 200 bucks for a mini Razor HD. I think once I have funds I will only buy DiscoveryOpt again as a budget option.
ОтветитьMOONDOG... I love your no BS reviews. Definitely helps us "laymen" out here. :) I just sent my Monstrum Hornet 6-24x50 back. The reticle was canted by about 2.5 degrees, and the exit pupil was way too narrow at anything above 18x to be usable. One thing I can say about Monstrum, they have amazing customer service. They refunded my purchase price 100% and I ordered the Challenger 5-25x56 to give it a go. I have several of Monstrum's prism opitcs, and a few of thier LVPO's, the Hornet was my fist long range optic from them, and I may have gotten a bad one. Looking forward to seeing how the Challenger 5-25 stacks up. Keep on making amazing content!!!
Ответить@Moondog 2A These comparison videos are extremely helpful. Especially with your standard testing, this allows us to compare more models across your videos. It's so helpful, I'm not sure I can confidently buy a scope that you haven't reviewed yet!
I'm interested in the Monstrum Challenger but am leaning toward the Hornet (for the savings and preferred reticle). I'd love to be able to better compare the glass clarity as you go up and down these entry brands (Monstrum, CVLIFE, Discovery etc.). Maybe you can do a round up or a Brand line up. So that we can SEE what the difference in glass quality as we go up in price point.
I would like you to send me the Challenger to have . Thank u
ОтветитьGreat and honest review. I've ran monstrum optics on my rifles for a while now. never had any issue with them. but they aren't meant for the competition realm. They stand pretty strong in the budget world and that's what most people love about them. both great products. thanks for the video man @monstrumtactical this is a really good comparison for how your products stack up against what is considered to be close to if not top of the line.
ОтветитьNicely done and thanks for the comparison! Subscribed
