Not everyone needs to have amputations but overall great rewrite

I like the ending but I kinda dislike Ymir speaking THIS much. Her whole motive is that she is a slave who suffered from horrific stockholm syndrome. I think that's why Eren's "freedom at all costs" resonates with her the most, because if Eren is the purest manifest of freedom, she is the polar opposite of that. I really think she should just have one line, at the end. She doesn't need to explain herself, and I like the idea of her getting revenge on Paradis. I think maybe showing her realising that no it wasn't the rest of the world who made her suffer, it was first the Eldians. They stuck her in the paths, they did this to her. I think her showing Eren the memory of her saving the royal family is enough, especially if she sees them let out the farm animals like she did all those years ago. But I think maybe her last line being "Do you hate me?" to Eren before she dies would just be so poetic. She's just a kid really, and Eren is the first person to ever understand and free her. Getting rid of her love motivation is a great thing and her revenge on Paradis is SUPER cool, but her talking as much as you made her... kinda ruins the mystic around her.

Oh you cooked so hard writing this rewrite omg 😭 it even feels like a better executed version of the ending for GoT.

I know people ride or die for Mikasa and Eren but I actually am all for Eren having been the father of the child Historia chose to have. After everything she endured and what she learned thanks to Ymir (who I believe is the one person Historia actually ever loved), why would she randomly choose a person just for the sake of her own survival? It strips away all of her agency and character development. And Eren, being the opportunist that he becomes, would jump on that train willingly. Imagine knowing you have 5 or so years left of living - leaving behind a child is a way for your image to keep existing. That union, albeit political more than anything, narratively makes so much sense. In fact, when I first saw pregnant Historia in the anime i thought to myself, “When did Eren even get the chance to do this?” 😭😭😭

And as for Mikasa and Eren - them being a tragic love story no matter the outcome is just beautiful. I’d imagine even with this outcome they still love each other, but what Eren has chosen has completely eviscerated his relationship with her (whom I believe is the closest thing to his soulmate, just like what he is for Mikasa) and with his best friend, Armin. Poetic justice honestly. Also, Eren dismissing Mikasa’s love because of her Ackerman gene is so on brand with him considering he’s like… the epitome of human free will. He wouldn’t want her to be in love with him (or think that way) just because of some sick and twisted pre-destined future that she had in store for her because of the Ackerman gene. However, her actually being in love with Eren even after she breaks that cycle is truly tragically beautiful… and the characters having to sacrifice the outcomes they wanted for others is also tragic in the sense that it means they don’t all have as much free will as they thought. And honestly, I love the situational irony that comes along with this.

And yet the ending remains hopeful and fulfilling because the characters at least get to experience a future where a new generation can know what it is to be free, and that’s so rewarding and beautiful coming from such tragic characters.

I usually have problems sitting through long videos which are mostly talkative...but this made me stick to my seat and make it through the 3.5 hours in like 2 sittings. You have real talent in storytelling and script-writing, even taking in account how you talked about having the advantage of "fixing" the ending retroactively, with known opinions of others and all the flaws pointed out. Tying up loose ends and making the story engaging at the same time is no small feat and I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed these videos.
I love the most how you handled Eren. He lost something more valuable than his life, the bonds with Mikasa, Armin and all the others are never getting truly restored, surely not in his remaining time. He however also gained all he ever truly wanted. Freedom- along with a daughter born into a world without war or enemies. THIS is how you make a bittersweet ending.
Anyways, I really hope you get better with your depression. If you wake up feeling that everything is worthless, your passion in these videos is absolutely not! Me and many others here agree that you made our days or weeks better! I'm aware that getting out of depression is nowhere near as simple as reading a nice comment and that there is so much more to it, but I truly hope you get better!

I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS TAKE ON THE AOT ENDING TOO MUCH (Especially the fact you used Weight of the World from Nier Automana which adds more emotion and depth to the ending).

And Reiner died as a hero, not as the Plot Armor Titan.

I'm curious if it's possible to pitch this to Isayama and have an alternative ending similar to Evangelion.

You fixed a lot of minor issues. But a talking dragon? How cringe is that Eren and historia ship? What a nightmare!
One thing doesn’t make sense Eren kills conny, hange and was willing to kill mikasa. But cries for historia being alive or not? Historia wasn’t even a close friend of him.

Also Mikasa didn’t get a proper closure. You did her dirty. Tell me these are nightmare😩.

Ymir was always the secret main villain, and this rewrite works with that perfectly 🙏

Im still at the beginning if the video, so you might adress this:
I would possibly change the part where Ymir hardens erens neck before everybody's strikes except Mikasas just "to taunt her, she thinks you cant do it". I think it could be the most effective if Ymir sees the future and Eren is unkillable because of it, he will always predict any attack. Only Mikasa can land the killing blow because Ymir, because of the treatment of King Fritz and how it broke her into being completely subservient to him, is scarred deeply enough that she can't understand/envision/comprehend/see the idea of Mikasa as the victim following through on breaking the chains of her abuser.

You created something great, you're clearly very skilled. I cant help but notice though how every writer prioritizes what they personally deem most important or are most interested in. In your case, its characters and relationships (+cool set piece action moments). However, some metaphysic/philosophical worldbuilding elements clearly took the back-set. Hallucigenia was skipped completely and I know there is at least some part of the fandom that found the origin of the titan curse one of their favorite mystery elements. The "origin of all life" thing. Of course, thats one of the hardest things to answer cause metaphysical questions are basically impossible to answer.

Reiners death hit the hardest in this. He was my favorite character by the end of the show and the way you acknowledged his split personality and then had him reconcile it by making his own decision on what he wanted to do was perfectly done and I appreciate you for it. Great job. Great writing. And great way to create a fan for your page brotha.

You lost me at the erehisu garbage but I can appreciate a bunch of the dialogue.

Your rewrite is good but Eren deciding to kill his homies just doesn't sound right. In season 3 we saw him a complete mess after learning how he obtained his titan powers and he was wrecked seeing people he had nothing to do with get squashed and even asked Historia to finish him off. There's plenty of other examples like the forest fight with Annie or jumping in a titans mouth to save Armin. That's a not a dude whos ready to kill his bros to save his own ass. Still this is really well thought out and returning to this universe to hear it is really fun again

How did Eren impregnate Historia without Mikasa knowing?

Thank you for the video. Watching your alternative ending made me realize, "Hey, actually, the original wasn't the worst trash possible, someone can go even deeper!" Compared to your garbage, the original shit ending is actually good. Now I can look at it and think, 'Wow, it could have been worse. Thank you so much for writing this absolute joke of a fever dream.

This rewrite is perfect, when Mikasa said I love you I instantly started crying. Also sorry to hear you struggle with depression and insomnia too, I hope things get better soon
