What Do Deer See and Are They Color Blind? - QDMA Whitetail Wednesday

I've shot alot of deer wearing blue jeans, doesn't seem to bother them as long as you're still and not moving all over the place.

The only part of this that is sort of misleading is that we are predators and therefore have better daytime vision.

Hunting is just the most bizarre activity. I could understand bare hand fight, but a remote-pushbutton killing is just a joke. Sorry.

They see the car or bridge they will get hit by or jump off.

Used to wonder why Tigers were Orange yet ambush predators. Then finally learned most pray animals can't see the Orange and appears as a green. So the green with the black stripes cause a really cool blending in effect in the brush.

No, they cannot see an orange vest. However they can see yellow, and a large expanse of orange is going to come up as a washed grey/yellow. The orange cap will stand a better chance of fading into the background.

The dumbest thing a hunter can do is run into me because they won’t ever see with their eyes again to hunt. How can you KILL such a beautiful creature?? 😢 Hope all hunters ROT in hell. Be kind!

They may not see blaze orange, but they do see big areas of solid color that outline the human form. So yea, without something to break up your outline, you stick out.

When wearing orange, all the other wildlife see you and sound alarms that deer use as a first alert. So yes, wearing orange screws up your hunting

I experimented with this and when I didn't wear orange I immediately saw deer, lots of deer.
