I surmise from the comments, some (most) people prefer beauty, and appreciate a well crafted piece of art, and therefore dont care for things that are ugly, repulsive, vile, and disgusting. While others dont consider those as negative attributes at all but as "artistic" qualities that trump any expectation of skill or craftsmanship, and......if you dont agree then you are just simply an ignorant, unenlightened simpleton.

What’s crazy is by the time I had seen this in the early 2000’s it had already been incorporated to one degree or another in everything I already loved. Laid bare in one fell swoop.

Amazing film

I watched “The Holy Mountain” by Alejandro on acid. It was a very entertaining watch and I enjoyed it. Knowing I merely enjoyed it because I was tripping. His movies are like that. Same with El Topo. It seems absolutely meaningless and weird because it is very truthful surrealism. Surreal in a way that seems shocking & untrue; truthful in a way that it is exactly what happens and has happened before. To me the only way one can experience surrealism and understand it is definitely to be on a psychedelic.

Stupenda pellicola, un pò troppo grottesca per i miei gusti ma comunque abbastanza interessante anche per il tema religioso, quindi stupenda e stupenda per me come valutazione è 8.

This is a great film. If you love art house cinema, then I highly recommend this film.

I think this movie is about the apocalypse and the 4 horsemen.

The director watched the good the bad and the ugly while talking to a zen type there may be heavy drinking afterwards then out of spite for a generation that fought WWII he wrote an anti-christ epic with internal narratives that greenlite debauchery of certainty principles. Ambiguity and detachment serving destructive processes that may be rooted in trauma. It's senseless, refers to meaning but we found very direct profane suggestions.

조도로프스키의 영화는 수위가 높다곤 하는데.. 21세기엔 그닥.. 그렇게 보이지도 않을뿐더러 그 사실이 내게 중요하지도 않음. 이 감독이 만드는 이미지는 정말 시대불문하고 어디서도 볼수없는 아티스틱한 독특함이 있다. 진짜 화면마다 아름다움. 정말 영화 보면 혼돈파괴파멸 지옥같은 상황인데 '영적이고' '종교적인' 느낌의 이미지를 만든다는게 신기할 뿐..

Watched this trailer, read the comments and despite how awful ppl said this movie was, I decided to watch it anyways. I love great movies and to say this is one of the best westerns is blasphemy. What a waste.
