I agree too many amateurs think they need to hit 56 or 60 and try and spin it when in reality they don’t spin it nearly enough. I take a 9 iron and get it on the putting surface and rolling as true and as fast as I can

What your sleeves say about your golf game. Tries way hard to look cool, probably an okay athlete in high school, his mom calls every 10 minutes to make sure he has sunscreen and a jacket. A good guy to play with. 21.7 handicap.

Actually the only shot that was not great was the wedge on the approach…. Everything else was exactly what the weekend warriors do…. Personally I prefer bump n runs even though they are not sexy… saves me literally a half a dozen shots a round… I think everyone should play course management more… even off the tee box… use a hybrid or an iron instead of Driver to using a 5,6,7,8 iron to chip with…. The game is easier when the ball isn’t in the air…. Just old school I guess… but solid regardless

You have the same issue most amateurs I play with do, you grab the iron/wedge based on your max distance, not your average distance, and you end up short of greens.

Go 1 extra club up on approach shots, allow youself to be long if you absolutely flush it, and your average dispersion will be closer to the hole.

Hates 14 way bags but wears sun sleeves.

I’m sure you would probably think it’s blasphemous, but normally use my Ping Chipr for those bump and runs, and have considerably lowered my strokes from when I’d use my 60

I've mastered the art of a bump and run with a 56°. I just refused to learn to chip with an 8i when i was younger so now i play every shot with a 56. Funnily enough those are often the best shots i hit during a round

Golf is golf! It can be unfair, fair, fantastic, challenging…. I like to keep grinding particularly on a difficult day with the hope I can squeak in a birdie. I never give up. I never slam a club. 🎉🎉😂😂😮😮

Using the bump and run is part of how I was able to finally get my handicap under -20. Fixing my slice was the other reason.
