Come on ref, just give Bath another 10 metres for this deliberate slowing down of the game. A lot of teams do this. If in open play, the opposition get the penalty the other team that fouled tends to hold on to the ball to slow the pace down. It needs to be whistled otherwise it gets frustrating.

c. A different ball is used from the one that originally went into touch

If smith would've just touched the ball as he wasn't the player who took the ball into touch,then bath can't take a quick lineout
