I'm starting to think everyone was in on this robbery. Salido obviously gave 0 fucks coming in overweight and just blasting low blows all round every round, the ref was chosen because he doesn't call anything, the judges who clearly counted the illegal blows in their scores, everyone just pretending the knockdown in the 10th didn't happen. Even the announcers who barely mentioned the low blows more than a few times in passing until the last two rounds, while praising Salido and also giving him rounds based on blatant fouls.

It's crazy to criticize Lomachenko for holding when his giant opponent is just punching him full force in the nuts and the ref is good with it. Salido did lots of holding throughout the fight forcing Loma to wrench his gloves out. He was just dirty in every possible way.

The icing on the cake is warning Lomachenko about the head when he has Salido hurt lmao all of a sudden you want to jump in immediately after letting Salido just clinch freely for 2 rounds when he's about to get ko'd

The commentators either had to have been paid off, or just extra highly favoring the underdog. I thought this was one of the most sophisticated displays of tactical, skillfull boxing I've ever witnessed. Ever. Against a rugged, also tactical veteran in Salido. Cleverly boxed, excellently moved around, and threw in small flurries when intelligent to do so. Though he didn't throw with as much volume, he didn't ever not command the ring and I loved the timing of his clinches, and how he used them to push the relentless Salido into the ropes as often as possible and wear out his legs. Thats a veteran move from a guy the commentators were practically trying to shit on the entire fight. I don't think it was mentioned even once how much Loma was making Salido miss! Watching this fight again later makes me wonder what/why the agenda to stop Loma's rise to the Top of P4P rankings. Headed over to rewatch the Lopez fight. I thought he won that one as well, but interested to see how I evaluate the fight years later.

Loma fangirls are crying in the comments but Salido won this fight ! He literally manhandled and schooled Loma the first 9 rounds but big respect to Loma for recovering some ground after the 9th.

There were a lot of low blows towards the end of the fight, but that doesn’t take away from all that damage he put on Loma the first 7 rounds, winning 6. Loma always loses the same way, getting hit to the body, roughed up on the inside, letting his opponent build a wide lead, getting in a rhythm a little too late, have one good moment where he hurts the winner in the fight, and always claim he was robbed. 3 times the same way is no fluke. Salido, Lopez and Haney all won the same way in a close fight.

i bet devin haney watched this and took some pointers from Salido this fight to use on Loma.

this was a wipeout. I didn't see it as close at all. All Salido. Lomo's dad should of had vastly more urgency for such a smart trainer -- he should've been more aware of how desperate the situation was. They didn't look like they had a plan B or C -- bad choice to take the fight, and big mistake not having backup plans and urgency as the rounds kept going Salido's way.

One of Loma’s best performances Loma is a true warrior having to put up with this dirty corrupt referee and dirty Mexican fighter and still hold his own in only his second professional fight big respect to Loma a true champion and boxing great.
