Randy, I am crying hearing about this. Jesus is the only lasting joy and peace. I lived 63 years in darkness with depression and anxiety. By Jesus stripes I was healed, all glory to him. My husband also recently became a Christian. Read your Bible, stay out of religion and speak to our Holy Father, all day. Give hi. All your praise and all your worries. He loves us dearly. 💗💗🙏

It's not a lack of joy; it's just that, in Europe and Germany in particular, we don't like the fake, superficial kindness and smiles that are so common in the U.S. Here, we are direct and sincere, and we like it that way. To us, excessive American friendliness seems sus 😅 You had a culture shock, that's all. Nothing dramatic.
