Love my 88 yj
ОтветитьGood thing I bought a Jeep YJ in 2021
ОтветитьI had one in 2000 and paid $300 bucks for it. Only had 60 original miles. Unfortunately the wiring harness caught fire and the entire engine caught fire.
ОтветитьGood luck finding one
Ответить2.5 YJ's are like $2,000 where I'm at.
ОтветитьGlad its your jeep
ОтветитьWhat type of wheels does it have?
ОтветитьBone stock, the yj is just a car, a grocery getter. To make it a formidable Jeep, there’s a lot of work that has to be done and serious cash. Axels, Gears, Lift, Slip Yoke Elimitor, lockers, etc.. I loved my 95 and loved building it. Keep in mind, if you drop coin on the build and then decide to sell it, you’ll have a hard time getting the getting even or making a profit. The TJ is a better option if you want to use it offroad. If you want a car, stock YJ is for you.

ОтветитьI've got a stock 88 original Safari Trim for sale right now. All the smog stuff is removed and changed out the Carter Carb.
I've got a 91 that I crawl with and will keep it. Enjoy the ride

ОтветитьJust bought a yj, near stock, for $8k. Steel price, but of every one i looked at, it was the most stock, cleanest paint job i could find under $12,000.
Thes YJs are pretty fun. Gonna keep it as stock as possible.

ОтветитьSomebody wanted to sell his jeep
ОтветитьMy experience with a 1943 GPW and a 95 YJ is that if you buy a CJ or Wrangler type Jeep that at least 10 years old, the price will rise along with inflation, at least. If you keep it in good shape or restore, Jeeps can be good investments. Also, this only holds if you don’t spend a lot on mods, and keep it close to stock.
ОтветитьI just recently sold my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ had 240,000 mi didn't burn oil or leak oil it was a stick shift soft top I think I spent more money on soft tops than anything else to repair I was offered 6,000 dollars for it i took I had it since new I used to run 20 50 oil in it all the time I put a Weber carburetor on it which definitely made a big difference the emissions was even better although it says not good for California I don't know about that I used to run it up and down the beach on Long Island go camping fishing at night it was my little tractor around my property I would pull trees around I pulled my 20 ft McKee craft to Florida witch is a really heavy boat pulled like a champ tracked like a champ with the trailer anyway down here it's really hot and it had no AC I still had my 1993 Ford explorer sport not four-wheel drive which has AC and everything and is actually a very good and reliable vehicle definitely good for a young kid that has a little money to spend it would be fun I guess I had my fun I recommend them it'll be the truck you take to the auto parts store to pick up parts for something else that fell apart that is all🤘 PS it was black and I mainly kept its stock in my opinion don't put big tires on it my friends who did hardly ever got into 5th gear due to the weight of the tires and it consumed a lot more gas don't get the four cylinder otherwise it would never last this long at least the motor okay time to look at another video.
ОтветитьHad my 91 for about 22 years. Bought it from a guy in my Jeep Club, the original owner, as it was better setup than my '89 (plus efi vs carter carb!). This was in California, 6 months later we moved back to the UK so i sold the 89 and shipped the 91 here. It's been wheeled in the US, Mexico, England and Wales. Not many can claim that. On it's third engine as the original block cracked during shipping, the XJ engine replacement wore out it's cylinders (went oval shaped) and it's currently using a TJ engine.
I sometimes think about selling it on, but just can't bring myself to do it. Guess i'll be keeping it for a long time yet!
Nice, but if you can get a TJ for $5k that’s even better. Peace ✌🏼
ОтветитьShould I buy a yj or a tj, it would be used for daily driver and ocasional off road, I’m also thinking on swapping the engine for a diesel one, thanks
ОтветитьYou may be better these days just building one out of aftermarket parts. New frame new tub and fenders etc.
ОтветитьI'm just trying to keep the frame together lol. Whatever it would sell for would never recoup a 1/4 of what I put into it.
ОтветитьI have a modified 1994 YJ. It would take 10 grand to get it from me. Almost everything has been replaced or rebuilt!
ОтветитьBought my '93...2.5, brand new when I was 20 yrs old. I'm 49 now and have more memories than I could shake a stick at in that thing!!!
Think I'll back it out of the garage today for a snow drive with the kids!
I'll never get rid of it. It's been one of the most durable and dependable vehicles I've ever owned!
And quite honestly....aside from the square headlights, the lines on the YJ are closer to the CJ-7 than the TJ.
I love the looks of the YJ.
Never thought these would be worth much. I bought mine 10 years ago. for $2Gs Runs great but has a Salvege title. I did not care. it was clean only had to change out a few things over the years. Nothing major. Get bugged though every time I take it out. Someone wants to buy it. I did just look up the prices for these. Even the ones that been Modded go for $20-$30Gs !?! I bought this to run into the ground. Instead of my FJ cruiser. This thing does not quite! Now Im thinking should I baby it? Na, it really is too much fun to drive. That in Line 6 never lets me down. Not sure how much that Salvage on the title would take it down anyhow. Not that I can figure out what wrong with it as it is. Its a 95Yj and I love the look of the lights. As they are differnt than other jeeps!
Ответитьits 2024 and i still need one!
Ответить...bring a ball hammer?! How 'bout a magnet??!!
ОтветитьThe carb on my 89 Sahara was problematic from the beginning. I'd have to constantly douse it with carb cleaner. I put a Weber carb kit in it and it runs so much smoother and reliably.
ОтветитьDana 35 'nuff said!
ОтветитьI’ve 2 a 93 YJ with 14000 original miles and a 91 I’m slowly restoring both 4.0
ОтветитьLove the dash on this. Jeeps ever since have a more modern style plastic dash that is hard to distinguish from any modern car. Square headlights no problem. Had 2 x 4litre automatic beasts
ОтветитьI weld frames, thinking about buying a 1990 rot box yj 4.2 straight 6 for $800. Older jeeps are cool, but newer ones are complete junk.💯
ОтветитьThe YJ is my favorite Jeep! I’m actually saving money to get one. My best friend has his still. It was his first car and I have lots of memories in it as well as it’s the first vehicle I learned to drive a manual transmission.
He actually tried to get rid of it several years ago and I convinced him to keep it. He thanks for that all the time.
The only thing that I wish was different about the YJ was, I wish it had a factory V8 option.
