I will bring you up to speed

Can you train someone to bring him up to speed? Or is that not correct?

Thank you Derek for the great lesson. Can we use "up to speed" like "I have gone over your email and I got up to speed with your concern" or "I have gone over your email and got up to speed on your concern". Are they both correct?
